Baby boys names

Hey guys,

I've name changed only because I'm going to mention my DS1s name and donr want people to connect some of my other threads to me!

I'm pregnant with DS2 and I find Boyz names so hard!

So DS1 is Oscar. We were set on Finley for him up til around 35 weeks when suddenly DP went off it, so I suggested Oscar in a panic, we both didn't hate it and then when DS was born we looked at him and he just looked like an Oscar haha.

So for DS2, we really struggle with boys names, the only 3 we both like are:

Logan
River
Nate

Middle name will be James and surname begins with an R and is a short 4 letter surname.

I love Ruben but DP said no as he thinks it's too exotic, DP loves Rory but I think Rory with a R surname would be a nightmare for a young kid if they struggle to pronounce their R's so I'm not sure haha.

Can anyone suggest any other names you think we may like?

Thanks guys!

River James is a great name in my opinion!

MolkosTeenageAngst · 10/10/2022 21:51

Jude
Eli
Lucas
Jonah
Soloman
Saul
Joel
Tobias

PinkSyCo · 10/10/2022 22:01

I think the name definitely needs 2 syllables if the middle and surname have only one. Joseph James is nice.

Babyboy2name · 10/10/2022 23:11

@SO1926 helpful thanks 🙄

@wishinguponrainbows thank you! I think River is DPs favourite. Annoyingly I suggested it for DS1 and DP said no back then, typical!

@MolkosTeenageAngst Eli, Jonah and Tobias I love! Suggested those already though and DP said no 😞

@PinkSyCo yes I definitely think it needs more than just one syllable you're right! I like Joseph as a middle name but not sure on a first name but I also don't hate it! I'll suggest it to DH just incase it turns out to be one he likes and we can add it to the list!

Joseph James is lovely you could use JJ.

Nathaniel

Zak
Jackson
Dylan
Leon
Cole

Babyboy2name · 11/10/2022 08:07

@Fivemoreminutes1 love ethan but DP has a friend called ethan so said no. Haven't suggested Roscoe though and really like that, thank you! Also quite like Isaac too actually

@Aria999 no not G haha. I suggested Elliot and DP said no, he's much fussier than me!

@SoUpset1984 good taste haha! Yes JJ is a nice nickname actually!

i Like River but not sure it goes that well with Oscar, however that may not matter to you.

id imagine Oscar and...

leo
felix
max
ralph
rufus
myles
elliott
theo
lucas
jude

Babyboy2name · 11/10/2022 09:25

@Mumofgirls2017 no I feel like River isn't the best fit with Oscar too! They don't feel like the same vibe.

Definitely going to suggest Leo or Theo though as I love both of those!

If the surname is something like Reid, Reay, Rudd or Ross, River will sound a bit naff

Epicstorm · 11/10/2022 11:10

I was going to say the same as KirstenBlest.

I really don’t like alliterative names.

Babyboy2name · 11/10/2022 12:02

@KirstenBlest @Epicstorm that's my worry, I feel like unless you say River James then the surname it's a bit off sounding isn't it

OP posts:
KirstenBlest · 11/10/2022 12:04

River Surname is tricky because it could sound like a real river, River Rodd will sound like River Odd. Not quite as bad as Rory Rowe but River Rowe could sound like Vivev Owe or Wiv a' Woe

Babyboy2name · 11/10/2022 12:18

Name change fail from me there🤦‍♀️

Just suggested all of these to DP and the only ones he liked were

Otto
Otis
Abel (but he's unsure because of the religious aspect)

His name begins with an O too so I think he likes the O names because they'd all be matching 😂

OP posts:
Billylilly · 11/10/2022 12:41

I love Otis and Oscar :-)

emmathedilemma · 11/10/2022 13:32

I've intrigued how your DP thinks Ruben is too exotic but will go along with River! There's so many Rubens around recently.
Oscar & Fergus
Oscar & Harris
Oscar & Brody
Oscar & Chester
Oscar & Lucas
Oscar & Benjamin
Oscar & Charlie
Oscar & Noah
Oscar & Ezra
Oscar & Clark
Oscar & Niko
Oscar & Torin

Babyboy2name · 11/10/2022 21:38

@Billylilly they go well don't they!

@emmathedilemma his logic is very flawed 😂 I love Noah and Ezra, will suggest those thank you!
