Beatrice or Beatrix?

I am still working on my list and I am thinking about suggesting one of these two names to my husband this weekend but first sort of need to figure out how I feel about them and which one I prefer. They fit my style but I also think that my husband might get on board because Bee is a somewhat modern sounding nickname and he likes Ruby.

Should I add them to my list, yes or no?

Would you give me your impressions, are there any negative associations? Or some pros and cons for either of these names.

What I thought about so far:

Beatrix - I like the nickname Bee, I think it sounds a bit more modern and carefree but I can't stand Trixie (do you think this is likely?). I know that I can just introduce her as Beatrix or Bee while she's little but at school how likely would it be that friends would go for Trixie or she'd pick it? My guess is not so likely because nicknames are usually derived from the first part of a name. I mean I guess I would get used to it I just don't particularly care for Trix or Trixie.

Beatrice - this seems a bit more elegant to me. Trixie will likely not happen. But it feels a bit older and serious.

Which one is less popular, likely to be dated, more beautiful?

Thanks for your help so far and thanks so much for your input.

I like both but am never sure if they are two or three syllable names?

Bea-trix ot Bea-ah-trix
Bea-triss or Bea-ah-triss

To me Beatrix sounds more two syllable 'beer-tricks' and Beatrice is like 'Be-a-trice'.

Mind you I know some accents will pronounce beer like 'be-er'.

I like both names but I would choose Beatrix as I love Bix and Trix.

Haha, that would be my accent 😂

All I see is "rice" with Beatrice.

I know a girl called Beatrix. She always says “I’m Beatrix, like Beatrix potter” religiously at every gathering. It’s making me hate her.

My niece is Beatrix and I have never even thought to call her Trixie

I love the nn Bea

Pronounced Bey-ah?! Or Bee-Ah?

Bea is usually pronounced 'bee'. I know several and they all say like this.

OP, I much prefer Beatrix. It's classic but also interesting and has a cooler vibe than Beatrice.
