Geila
I'm not using this name but it was in my list of names I liked, I had only heard it pronounced gye-la in the past (the 'ei' pronounced like Eisley) and really liked it but just recently heard it pronounced gay-la....so I'm curious which is the correct way or does it just depend where your from??

gheela (fairly short ee sound)

UnagiForLife · 19/09/2022 15:14

I would pronounce that gay-la

Libertyqueen · 19/09/2022 15:15

I wouldn’t know how. If I had to guess it would have been ay-s-leigh or igh-s-Leigh but I’d be very aware I was making a guess.

Doesn't that mean "horny" in German? Is it a real name?

KangarooKenny · 19/09/2022 15:45

Gee-la

knackeredagain · 19/09/2022 15:45

I’ve ne er heard the name so would have assumed Gayla

YomAsalYomBasal · 19/09/2022 15:46

Gay-la like Leila to me

BuffaloCauliflower · 19/09/2022 15:47

I’ve never seen it before but I’d say Gay-La or Gee-La if sounding out, not Guy-La

Geil is horny! Pronounced Guyl

grey12 · 19/09/2022 16:21

Jee-la

Lilacsunflowers · 19/09/2022 16:27

I'd say Guy-lah

KendrickLamaze · 19/09/2022 16:34

I'd avoid saying it before I heard how it was pronounced but if I had to, I'd say Guy la.
