Juniper?

Thoughts? For a girl, obviously (though who knows these days) surname is 3 syllables and common. Will be sister to Ivo.

Love it.

@toastofthetown I’m not on Reddit so I’ve not seen that, but I’m sure it’s the same here, certain names will get mentioned a lot as likes/suggestions, but actually rarely used in the real world. I’ve looked it up on the ONS and it was used 87 times in 2020, ranked 460 something, so actually very little use.

Ivo crops up here fairly regularly in suggestions but is hardly used in practice

I don’t usually like nature inspired names like willow and rowan. I do however really like Juniper (almost as much as I like gin)

mycatisannoying · 08/09/2022 20:31

I don't like it. It sounds like a name you'd give to a cow or horse.

chineapplepunks · 08/09/2022 20:33

Love it!!! Top of the list for whenever we have baby 2!

Purplemoon19 · 08/09/2022 20:57

I also find it painfully trendy. I also really don’t like the ‘nipper’ sound

beccahamlet · 08/09/2022 20:58

I love it.

TooHotToTangoToo · 08/09/2022 20:59

I like it

HerRoyalNotness · 08/09/2022 20:59

We have it as a MN and DD loves it. Probably should have just named her that for FN

Chakraleaf · 08/09/2022 21:00

My cats name. We call her nipper!

SilverOtter · 08/09/2022 21:01

I love it 💕

FunsizedandFabulous · 08/09/2022 21:04

Nice! But I like plant names anyway. My husband put a veto on all my horticultural themed name ideas. Damn him.

Howeverdoyouneedme · 08/09/2022 21:04

Very trendy. Not necc a bad thing.

Snugglemonkey · 08/09/2022 21:31

I think it is a lovely name and Juni is very sweet.

Stevie6 · 08/09/2022 21:35

Benny & Joon is my first thought and absolutely adore that film

MsJuniper · 08/09/2022 21:35

Good name 😬

ChagSameachDoreen · 08/09/2022 22:22

Horrible. All I hear is Jew + nipper.

Very ugly name. I can't fathom its popularity.

piglet81 · 08/09/2022 22:33

I also like Acacia, Anthea, Betony, Bryony, Cassia, Cicely, Clover, Fern, Jessamine, Linden, Rowan and Willow 😊

minipie · 08/09/2022 23:31

Cicely
Dittany
Bettany
Jessamy
Hebe
Daphne

BearBibble · 08/09/2022 23:44

It's currently top of my list if this next baby is a girl! I love it 😍

CandyLeBonBon · 08/09/2022 23:45

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 08/09/2022 19:58

I love it.

However, it is burned to remove poison and evil spirits and was used heavily during the plague. Bear that in mind.

Was it/is it not also used as a gin flavouring? Works for me!

ReadtheReviews · 08/09/2022 23:49

Nice. Also Ginevra which is Juniper in Italian. And Juno (Queen of Heaven).

SemperIdem · 08/09/2022 23:55

I think it is really ugly.

Ginevra on the other hand is lovely.

Reallyreallyborednow · 08/09/2022 23:57

BRIAN: Of course they've brought forth juniper berries! They're juniper bushes! What do you expect?!

It’s a miracle!!

I like it as a name but would have to start quoting Python every time I heard it 😂😂

BuffaloCauliflower · 09/09/2022 08:00

@Reallyreallyborednow that’s fine 🤣
