KangarooKenny · 06/09/2022 16:45

Rex and Max are dog’s names to me.

theemmadilemma · 06/09/2022 16:46

Good boi.

FruitPastilleNut · 06/09/2022 16:47

I also instantly think dog.

GlitteryGreen · 06/09/2022 16:47

I do agree Rex is strongly associated with dogs. It also makes me immediately think of Stacey Solomon's son though so I'd imagine it's having a bit of a resurgence currently?

Thinkbiglittleone · 06/09/2022 16:49

I love it. There are loads of names that make me think of dogs but are also used for humans. Go with what you like.

Ontopofthesunset · 06/09/2022 16:52

I think it's great. I really liked it for DS2, but it was too close to DS1's name (one syllable with an e in the middle). It's true that it's historically a stereotypical dog's name, but then Felix is a stereotypical cat's name and I know loads of boys called Felix, as well as a few called Rex. It isn't like calling your child Fido - Rex is a human name used on a dog, just like Felix is a human name used on a cat. And I've never actually known a dog called Rex or a cat called Felix, though I know loads of dogs and cats called Finn, Ben, Max, Poppy, Molly, Daisy, Oscar etc (and I also know loads of children and adults called all those names).

Anyway, people call their children Otis which is the name of a famous lift brand and Noah which is the name of guy with an ark. Everything has a precedent.

BerriesOnTop · 06/09/2022 16:54

He’ll be a very gud boi

ofwarren · 06/09/2022 16:54

My childhoods dogs name

Lilacsunflowers · 06/09/2022 16:56

Definitely a 🐕 dog!

DuchessOfSausage · 06/09/2022 16:57

I like it but it's a good dog's name and it's a bit too trendy.
Funny how Regina isn't.

Sooveritallnow · 06/09/2022 17:04

Unless your new additional is a puppy, then no.

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 06/09/2022 17:05

If they have a lisp they won’t thank you. I imagine the bullying for Recxxxxxsh will be worse than it was for Cecily.*

Not my real name but similar in terms of multiple opportunities for embarrassment.
Obviously not embarrassEd any more but as a kid it would have been nice to have one less reason to have the piss ripped out of me at the least! 😀

HoofWankingSpangleCunt · 06/09/2022 17:06

Or should i say pischshsh?

Ihatethenewlook · 06/09/2022 17:06

It’s a breed of rats and cats. I’ve got two of them. Rex rats that is

SecretVictoria · 06/09/2022 17:09

Hobbesmanc · 06/09/2022 15:55

I think it's a great alternative to other Xy names like Max, Felix, Alex

Rex Harrison- such a legend too!

His name wasn’t Rex though.

berksandbeyond · 06/09/2022 17:23

In in the 'nice name for a dog' camp i'm afraid

SoupDragon · 06/09/2022 17:24

It's absolutely a dog's name.

SirChenjins · 06/09/2022 17:28

Dog’s name or dinosaur

Lyla82 · 06/09/2022 17:28

It's a good strong name! Love it.

You can use any 'human' name for a dog now. I know dogs called Jasmine, George, Molly, Ben etc, so I wouldn't worry about those comments.

noclothesinbed · 06/09/2022 17:32

German shepherd

PopcornParty · 06/09/2022 17:33

Very cool name!!!

Ameanstreakamilewide · 06/09/2022 17:35

Cheeselog · 06/09/2022 16:00

I think
T
Dog
Oedipus

So it’s a no from me.

I laughed at Oedipus! 😂

toastofthetown · 06/09/2022 17:39

I know dogs called Jasper, Robert, and Lucy, but none called Rex. Rex is a fine name. Trendy at the moment with the x and rising quickly so might not be a unusual as some would think, but I quite like it.

ohsuzannah · 06/09/2022 17:53

Love it 😊

fallfallfall · 06/09/2022 17:58

I thought Rex was a nn for Reginald.
