The name Zelda...

I like that's it's spunky and easy to spell.

What do you think?

There was a Zerelda Brass in Malory Towers. Just popped in my mind although it was years since I last read them. I think she was like her name. Brassy and American

I too associate it with the glamorous 1920s, I assume because of Zelda Fitzgerald but because of this association the name Zelda seems very cool to me. I imagine a Zelda to be (like Zelda Fitzgerald) hanging out in cafes in Paris in the 1920s, smoking cigarettes and drinking and laughing all night surrounded by great novelists and poets and artists. It's on a lot of 'Hipster Baby Name' lists, I assume for this reason and also the video game connection. I like it!

It just sounds really 'wizardy' to me
Not fond of it personally

It was the name of F Scott Fitzgerald’s wife.

Totally useable. Not my cup of tea but not eyebrow-raising either...

reminds me of Terrahawks.. Kids now wouldn't ever have heard of it though

This!

I do like the name objectively, but all I can see is this hideous puppet!

Perfectly useable name. I know a 3m old Zelda (with sister Xanthe).

GlassDeli · 04/09/2022 11:38

I don't like it. It sounds like a manipulative fortune teller with cold eyes. I assume it derives from Griselda, which is even worse and reminds me of gristle and grizzle.

I know a Zelda
