Can’t agree with husband on name!

I’m set on Elias with possible shortening of Eli but he’s not so sure (he keeps saying it sounds a bit wet - not sure how?!) I don’t like most of the names he likes as they’re a little bit too dime a dozen, we both like Isaac, Mason and I also like Cassius/Caspian with shortening of Cass.

Elias is my favourite of all though - after some opinions? Or suggestions of similar names?

I don’t see how Elias nn Eli is wet, but Issac is great too - and less overused right now.

I’d go for Cassian nn Cass myself as it’s nice and the most unusual - there are A LOT of Elis about, nice though it is

If he’s worried about cxxxxy then deffo not Mason. I don’t think Levi was 10 minutes ago but maybe it’s gone that way.

Ezra
Nathanial nn Nate
Christopher / Kester nn Kit
Ethan
Max
Caleb
Jonah
Soloman nn Sol
Abraham nn Abe or Bram
Moses
Amos
Gillies
Linus
Jonas
Rufus
Laurence nn Laurie
Zachery nn Zach

If he's not into a name, it's not fair for you to be set on it. Isaac is lovely and my favourite of your names. Would your husband prefer Eli as a standalone name. Would Amos, Asher, Caleb, Ezra, Jesse, Reuben, or Silas appeal? They are all biblical and quite soft sounding, but don't sound wet with it.

What about Asa?

Mumofgirls2017 · 28/08/2022 17:54

Love Caspian, Cassius, Elias in that order

pinklavenders · 28/08/2022 17:55

I like Caspian and Cassius. Or how about Quentin or Caspar?

FunsizedandFabulous · 28/08/2022 18:02

Isaac used to be popular when DD was a baby (2006) but it's less so now. I like it. I also like Mason. Elias is not my favourite, sorry.

I don't like Elias - it's too long
Isaac is ok
Mason is only ok as a surname
Caspian is ok and I quite like Cassius
