Una - love it but spelt Oona (otherwise you run the risk of You-nah)
Nansi - love too but spelt Nancy (unless you are Welsh) else it will be a pain
Enid - I'm guessing your are Welsh?! I think a lot of people will say Ee-nid.
I like it either way as an alternative to the v popular Edith

Seren - nice bit overused
Adelie - a bit too close to adder but Adela is lovely
Marnie - yes if short for Marina

Margot - great but super popular, I'd pick something else

Romilly - OK, bit fussy

Winnie - no, too twee, especially as a full name in its own right
Mabli - no, just odd

Ayupchuck1 · 22/08/2022 21:59

Margot, Seren and Winnie are my top three!

SundayTeatime · 22/08/2022 22:01

Una -yes, fine, a bit boring.
Margot-yes, like
Romilly-yes, like
Mabli-yes, like
Adelie-penguin
Seren-naff
Nansi-yes, like
Marnie-No. Hitchcock.
Winnie-no, twee. Ok if short for Winifred.
Enid-yes, if pronounced the Welsh way.

Goodnewsday · 22/08/2022 22:06

Una - not keen
Margot - like it but v popular
Romilly - that’s cute actually, reminds me of the newsreader

Mabli - not keen
Adelie - not keen
Seren - not keen
Nansi - I like it spelt the other way
Marnie - love it, always have

Winnie - not keen
Enid - kinda cute but maybe not for a teenager

what about Eden? Berta? Nellie? Eleanor? Iris? Ivy? Everley?

Mumofgirls2017 · 22/08/2022 22:27

Una- no
Margot- trendy but can’t get on board with
Romilly- love

Mabli- prefer Mabel
Adelie- no for me
Seren- like
Nansi- like would spell Nancy but am english
Marnie- ok

Winnie- ok
Enid- like

UnityO · 22/08/2022 22:31

Love Nansi and Seren but I think Seren has very popular in recent years so I'd probably go with Nansi.

Thefruitbatdancer · 22/08/2022 22:36

Una - ok
Margot -or
Romilly - too popular and I've only seen it spelt with a single l
Mabli - lovely name but it will autocorrect to Mabel
Adelie - looks misspelt. Adeline, Adele or Adela
Seren - lovely
Nansi - again it'll autocorrect to Nancy
Marnie - very popular, how about Marina?
Winnie - bit babyish sounding
Enid - no from me

miss.89 · 22/08/2022 22:39

@ffrenchie4002 I really like nanci

FlissyPaps · 22/08/2022 23:17

Una - Love
Margot - Love
Romilly - Love
Mabli - No
Adelie - No
Seren - Prefer Serene
Nansi - No
Marnie - A bit “dog”
Winnie - Love
Enid - No. Too “old lady”

DaisyJoy1 · 23/08/2022 00:13

Love Winnie, Margot and Marnie.

Meandmini3 · 23/08/2022 00:37

Una lovely
Margot fine
Romilly no

Mabli did you make this one up?
Adelie no Adeline is better though
Seren okay
Nansi you definitely made this up right? Nancy?
Marnie no

Winnie Winifred but still no
Enid fine

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 23/08/2022 01:22

Romilly is lovely and I like pretty Seren too (despite its trendiness in parts of Wales - I'm guessing you are in Wales because of the spelling for Nansi?) Very retro Enid could grow on me, don't hear it often now.

@Meandmini3 Nansi and Mabli are fairly popular Welsh names, just like Seren Smile

The others aren't my cup of tea - mostly too "old lady" hipster style for me, sorry, although Marnie is a cute nn (for Shakespearean Marina?)

Others you might like:

Audrey (if you like retro chic)
Nina
Sylvie (dated in France but cool here)
Rosalie
Coralie
Verity
Cecily
Tesni
Eira
Eirlys
Eirian (probably bit middle aged but I love the sound!)
Anwen (ditto)
Gwen (Gwendoline would be the retro feel?)

Mummytobe333 · 23/08/2022 02:40

Like Una. Not too keen on the rest all a bit ‘old lady’ or made up.

louislong · 23/08/2022 03:06

Hi

Seren is such a beautiful name Unique too .

frenchie4002 · 23/08/2022 04:06

Thanks all. No names are made up, some are Welsh

@Goodnewsdaylove Nellie and Ivy, thanks!

@IamnotwhouthinkIam some lovely suggestions to add to the list, thank you

Una - agree with PP who said to spell it Oona
Margot - love
Romilly - love but I might spell it Romily
Mabli - sounds like some kind of hybrid wine, sorry!
Adelie - will be forever misspelt as Adele
Seren - will be forever misspelt as Serena
Nansi - really don’t like this spelling, Nancy is better
Marnie - ok
Winnie - don’t like
Enid - due a comeback

DuchessOfSausage · 23/08/2022 09:33

Una - like but will get Yewna as well as Oona
Margot - Maggot
Romilly - don't like at all
Mabli - ok, a bit trendy, only if Welsh, prefer Mali
Adelie - penguin
Seren - dislike, twee and likely to date badly
Nansi - only if Welsh. Nancy is fine
Marnie - not keen
Winnie - ok, quite cute
Enid - lovely but only if Welsh. Enn-id not Ee-nid

Strange mixture of Welsh and non-Welsh names
