Alistair or Alasdair?

We have settled on a name for our baby son but can't decide on the best spelling.

Would you opt for Alistair or Alasdair? And how would you pronounce your choice?

For context, we live in the US but are British-Australian. We have a one syllable Scottish last name.

Kind comments only please. I delivered very recently and am incredibly tired!

Thanks everyone.

You can spell this so many bloody ways. I've got friends/ colleagues and kids with just about every spelling going. Please accept the people will get it wrong!

Personally I like Alasdair (but might be tricky for the US crew) or Alastair.

Both of these tend to get shortened to Al rather than Ali.

I'd go for Alistair, I think it's the more intuitive spelling and I prefer the way it sounds.

It’s a great name - Alistair is the most standard international spelling so I’d go with that
