Hey,
Can any Welsh speakers let me know how they would pronounce the name Cari please?

Thanks in advance

Cah - Ree with the emphasis on the first syllable.

But I think you mean Caru which means 'to love'.

Thank you, you're not the first person to say this but no, I mean Cari...

"The name Cari is primarily a female name of Welsh origin that means Beloved. Diminutive form of Angharad or Carys."

I don't want to give my daughter a name which people are going to think we've spelt incorrectly, which is why I asked.

I know a couple of Cari's so wouldn't think you've misspelled it. It's not overly popular but still a known name in my area. The ones I know use the pronunciation suggested by @trèschaud and I can't imagine it being pronounced any differently

Like "Carry" as in Carry On films. I know a Cari (shortened from Caroline, and not Welsh) so I wouldn't think you'd misspelled it.

Carrie. I've never heard of it being used as short for Angharad or Carys, but I do know one Cari
