Hunter makes me think of Hunter Biden which is an awful association. Like picking Donald or Boris as a name.

My not sure about either. Is it pronounced Decklan or Deshlan? And Hunter would be an unfortunate name if they grew up to be staunch vegans, possibly?

Declan. Don't mess with the spelling to try to make it unique.

Declan is ok but I don’t like your spelling, I think it would invite confusion. I like the sound of Hunter but it doesn’t have very nice connotations - I imagine someone literally hunting. Hudson is nice too, similar sound to Hunter without the violent imagery.
