My kids are 16-21 so I won't be using any myself! But I still think of names I like that I rarely hear, especially in the under 10s. Of course my choices may age me! Some I like:

Natasha
Naomi
Cosima
Greta
Sebastian
Conrad
Jamie
Tamzin
Constantine

And maybe this isn't underused (?) I dunno but my fav boy's name is Dominic and DH said NO.

There's a thread about a willow tree right now which reminds me that the name Willow has always been one of my favourites, and feels underused. I would have expected it to be far more common since one of the main characters on Buffy was named Willow, but I've never met a Willow.

I was originally be named Naomi until Dad came home and suggested 'unique and trendy' Gemma.

I was one of 5 Gemma's in my class and 9 in my year and I've always hated it. I wish I'd changed it when I was younger. It's common sounding and also far too common.

I always loved the name Drew, short for Andrew, but it was a hard no from DH. I also liked Laurie and Daniel. I’ve worked in schools for ten years and haven’t met any of the above but know older people with the name.

Cant think of many boys names that aren’t often used - I think I like classic boys names so they’re actually quite popular!

One of my colleagues has a 10 year old Peter. I was really surprised when I first heard it and actually commented how rare it was to hear nowadays. She said his cousin is called Paul and both were named after GPs.

My younger DS has a friend called John but they call him a nickname.
