Ivy-Paige or Ivy-Rose

Which would you choose?
We've finally narrowed our new baby girls name down to these 2 options but we can't decide which sounds better.

So Ivy-Paige or Ivy-Rose which should be her name 😁

I’d say Ivy-Paige incase she doesn’t want be known as flowers (nothing against flowers btw)

I would use Ivy as a middle name and one of the others as a first name.

Ivy-Rose sounds botanically confused so Ivy-Paige I guess. I prefer them as separate names rather than hyphenated though.

I would say Ivy Paige. I work with kids and despite Rose being a beautiful name I’m so fed up of it as a middle name! It feels a bit boring now since every other girl is Lily Rose, Emma Rose, Evie Rose etc. If it’s not Rose it’s Grace. Paige feels a bit more unexpected and new. I like Ivy for a first name - I’ve never met one in real life!

She might get nicknamed I-P at school, so if you’re ok with her going through school being known as I-pee then go with that.

Ivy Paige. Rose is such an overdone, BORING name, along with May and Grace. Standard middle names. Be different!

Paige with ivy as a middle name. No hyphen. Paige is much more original. There are so many ivys around. And even more girls with rose as a middle name.

I-P was the first thing I saw. I don’t think either name works hyphenated, because one may get I-P and the other is overly botanical. If you drop the hyphen though, either would work.

I'm starting to consider Paige instead of Ivy. It's really not a name you hear often as a 1st name

I would definitely drop the hyphen. Paige would be my preference out of the two.

I think Paige was popular in the 1990s. I know more than 1but they are not children now

Ivy, or Paige, or Rose or Ivy Paige or Ivy Rose.

But NOT Ivy-Paige or Ivy-Rose. Really it spoils both names to link them like that.

I do like Rose, but agree it is now very overused.
I much prefer Ivy to Paige. Think Ivy is lovely.

Another vote for Paige. Maybe Ivy as a middle name? Rose is very popular.

Please don’t hyphenate it

I always say this, but if you hyphenate the name, people will just use the first one when they go to school.

If you actually want people to use both names every day, all the time, you’ve really got to combine them. Ivyrose. Ivypaige. Yes, it might look a bit weird at first glance, but it will soon look completely normal to those who know them and you and later your kid will be able to stand up for their full name against teachers and fellow pupils who try to shorten it and demand that people actually use their real name.

If you don’t care about people just calling them Ivy for short, then call them Ivy Rose or Ivy Paige and accept that the middle name will get ignored. It will whether you hyphenate it or not, and the hyphen runs the risk of looking old fashioned (‘so 20s’) or tacky to her by the time she is a High Court judge or the Prime Minister or whatever brilliant thing she turns out to be.

Either go wild with Ivyrose or go traditional with Ivy Rose, but don’t got halves with Ivy-Rose. And don’t worry that it’s two plants, it’s botanical and encourages your kid to love nature. It’s a lovely name.
