Jonah - ok ish.
Roman - effeminate to my ears
Hudson - dreadful

Silversilverstreet · 14/04/2022 16:13

To me a Jonah is someone who brings bad luck. As nobody else has said that yet it must be an old-fashioned view.

I like Rowan: I have known both boys and girls called Rowan.

Hudson I don’t like because it’s normally a surname, but that doesn’t seem to matter to a lot of people.

Joolsin · 14/04/2022 16:15

I absolutely love Jonah, thought of it for ds but it rhymes really badly with our surname.

Rowan and Hudson are both surnames to me, so no to both.

estoybien · 14/04/2022 16:40

I like Jonah

Floralnomad · 14/04/2022 16:45

Hudson is dreadful

Liv999 · 14/04/2022 16:55

Jonah is a fabulous name

Electrox · 14/04/2022 17:22

Jonah

Fl0w3ry · 14/04/2022 19:05

Jonah is the best of the 3.

I don’t like Rowan because it sounds too similar to Roman, I know a Rowan and he gets called Roman a lot.

Hudson is really awful, sorry. And the shortened name would just be ‘Hud/s’

ApolloandDaphne · 14/04/2022 19:08

Jonah.

I prefer Rohan to Rowan

Don't like Hudson. It is a river not a person.

clpsmum · 14/04/2022 19:17

Hudson

Comedycook · 14/04/2022 19:18
  1. Rowan
  2. Hudson
  3. Jonah

Can't say I love any of them though

AntarcticTern · 14/04/2022 19:24

Rowan

PierresPotato · 14/04/2022 19:29

Jonah

MrsMigginsCat · 14/04/2022 19:30

None do it for me, but if I had to pick one it would be Rowan

Cotswoldmama · 14/04/2022 19:43

Hudson is a no, the others are ok

bloominglovelyorange · 14/04/2022 21:39

Rowan is my baby girl's name so it's a girl name to me but I know it's unisex. It's getting increasingly popular for girls in Scotland (where it's top 100 for girls and not boys) and America if that bothers you. Unfortunately her name gets shortened to Row all the time which I hate and ask people not to but it's inevitable. The main issue with the name has been that I didn't realise Roman with an M is the top fastest rising boy name. Risen hundreds of places over last few years to now be top 30 in official chart and still rising. Everywhere we go there's at least 2 baby Romans (swimming lessons, small nursery group) and there's always comments and confusion for Rowan and Roman and also Reuben.

Jonah is my favourite of your list I think

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 14/04/2022 21:57

My favourite is Hudson. But I'm not that keen on any of them

kitkatsky · 14/04/2022 22:00

Jonah. Know a girl called Rowan and a dog called Hudson!

lakeswimmer · 14/04/2022 22:03

Rowan - DS's middle name, one of my favourites.

After that, Jonah. Don't like Hudson.

TheLadyDIdGood · 14/04/2022 22:03

Jonah - classic and will follow a child through all their life stages.

Rowan is a female name. Roman maybe as a male alternative.

Hudson is very American so not my cup of tea.

whatausername · 14/04/2022 22:05

Jonah.

Hudson = murky, dirty river.

Derrymum123 · 14/04/2022 22:13

Jonah by a country mile. Rowan 2nd, then Hudson, which reminds me of The Hudson River I'm afraid.

DramaAlpaca · 14/04/2022 22:15

Jonah is the nicest
Rowan, I prefer on a girl
Hudson - just no

tearinghairout · 14/04/2022 22:16

I love Jonah, nn Joe. Also love Rowan. Hard to choose between them.
Hate Hudson, sorry.

WeasilyPleased · 14/04/2022 22:24

Rowan is my favourite because it's strong and gentle at the same time. Jonah is nice but makes me think of the miserable bloke in the whale. Hudson is awful and the name of a sheep I used to know.
