What are your thoughts on Benjamin and Arthur? Considering for DS1. Thank you!

@DemBonesDemBones

Benjamin. I'm still confused how Arthur caught back on!
Me too! Always seemed an ancient name too me.

I just find Benjamin so so boring. I prefer Arthur

MushroomQueen · 08/04/2022 10:29

Benjamin

LadyLolaRuben · 08/04/2022 10:36

Ben definitely. Classic and timeless

Rainbowbaby13 · 08/04/2022 10:41

I love Arthur it's top of our list for our next baby if it's a boy 🥰

Favourodds · 08/04/2022 10:42

If you're in your 30s, I think every other man you meet is called Ben. My friend dated 5 Ben's in a row once.

That said, it is a nice name with lots of nickname opportunities.

I can see the appeal of Arthur but think Benjamin has more staying power. Arthur is super popular right now but likely to date quite quickly.

I like Benjamin but it will almost certainly be shortened to Ben. I dislike Benji though - think it sounds like your calling the dog (at least it does when one of my neighbours calls her DS!)

Arthur is such a strong name - I love it. It is one of my DS's names and has been a family name for the last 300 years at least. It was very out of fashion when DS was born 15 years ago and a few people pulled faces at it, but has gained in popularity since then. I have a few Benjamins in my wider family, but they are all on the Jewish side so I see it as a more orthodox or religious name.

I think both bit would probably choose Benjamin
