Belle or Caroline

As a Middle name for Penelope, we really love Penelope.
Belle is my favourite, but Caroline is a family name.

I think Penelope Caroline is a bit of a mouthful.
Penelope Belle would work better depending on surname.

But then when I was a lot younger my ex cheated on/left me for a Caroline so maybe I'm just bitter Grin

Belle is nice on its own, you don't need it be a shorting of longer name. Caroline is nice too. Of the two Belle is my favourite. I really really dislike the name Bella which is popular that moment.

Caroline is a more historical name than Belle, it's used in more cultures and has more namesakes so I'd pick Caroline.

Belle just makes me think of that Anita Ward song, which I hate! So definitely Caroline.

Caroline is a beautiful regal name with family meaning.

Belle is twee and common in both senses of the word.

Penelope Caroline is a gorgeous strong name for a girl.

Penelope Belle is the pregnancy hormones talking.

Caroline is a lovely name, though maybe something a bit shorter would go better with Penelope. But not Belle! It's very faddy at the moment, plus with Penelope there are too many 'ell' sounds - Pen-ELL-up-ee bELL'.
