Something similar to Joe

We're expecting a boy, and are looking for a traditional name, avoiding anything with an 'ee' sound at the end (i.e. Harry, Charlie...) as it clashes with our surname.

We love Joe but someone close to us has just named their boy this (they didn't know we liked it too) and we'd like something different to them.

Any suggestions?

In what world are Simon or Conrad similar to Joe, apart from having the letter O in?

OP I would say something short and informal like Sam or Max has a similar feel.
