Thoughts on Lucie?

My DP likes the name Lucie but I'm undecided.
What kind of images does it generate?

I don’t like the Lucie spelling unless you do happen to be French.

Similarly prefer Molly over Mollie, Holly over Hollie and Katy over Katie.

I like Lucie. I don't see the issue with the spelling.

Maybe Lucia?

Lucine is a bit silly and will definitely confuse people. Lucie is a bit too frilly for my liking. Lucy is great.

I have an adult Lucy
She loves her name, she was named after her great, great grandmother who was born in 1910
If anyone ever asks how she spells her name she sarcastically replies

Just spell it the normal way. I'm a Lucie and I bloody hate it. Spend my life spelling it out. Why pick a normal name and then choose a weird spelling?

Why take a lovely classic name, and then spell it incorrectly? I don't get it.

Better than Lucee I guess, or Lucey, or Lucie-Mae or Lucie-Rae

I prefer the spelling Lucy.

I think it is a very boring name, no bad connotations or anything just really bland.

Lucy is a great name.

Lucie is the Beatrix potter spelling on Mrs tiggywinkle so don't think it's that new!

Lucie the French spelling is nice. I knew a Lucie in primary school.

Lucy is a better spelling, using the French is just fussy (unless you are French)

Lucy or Lucia because Lucie looks like you've misspelled Lucia.

I have a Lucy. I love the name and so does she (she's almost 20 now).

Spell it correctly though, or she'll be in for a lifetime of explaining it. It is Lucy. Why take a lovely, classic name and spell it incorrectly?

I have a lovely friend called Lucie, though I believe it’s short for Lucinda - though she doesn’t let that on to many people.

For those saying Lucy is a NN. It isn’t a nn, it is a name in itself. I really like the name Lucy, and every Lucy I have known has been a really sparkly, successful person
