My DP likes the name Lucie but I'm undecided.
What kind of images does it generate?

I don’t like the Lucie spelling unless you do happen to be French.

Similarly prefer Molly over Mollie, Holly over Hollie and Katy over Katie.

GreenOrangePear · 28/03/2022 21:27

I like Lucie. I don't see the issue with the spelling.

Maybe Lucia?

BonjourCrisette · 28/03/2022 22:06

Lucine is a bit silly and will definitely confuse people. Lucie is a bit too frilly for my liking. Lucy is great.

Japanesejazz · 28/03/2022 22:06

I have an adult Lucy
She loves her name, she was named after her great, great grandmother who was born in 1910
If anyone ever asks how she spells her name she sarcastically replies
It’s a 4 letter word
Luh, ugh curly cuh, why

WeasilyPleased · 28/03/2022 22:08

Lucie lastic.
I've never met a nice Lucy but that's just me.

SmellyWellyWoo · 28/03/2022 22:12

Just spell it the normal way. I'm a Lucie and I bloody hate it. Spend my life spelling it out. Why pick a normal name and then choose a weird spelling?

arethereanyleftatall · 28/03/2022 22:12

Why take a lovely classic name, and then spell it incorrectly? I don't get it.

iknowimcoming · 28/03/2022 22:18

Better than Lucee I guess, or Lucey, or Lucie-Mae or Lucie-Rae Grin

LynetteScavo · 28/03/2022 22:21

I prefer the spelling Lucy.

It's a nice enough name, but it too similar to loo seat.

Tiredmum100 · 28/03/2022 22:28

@NativityDreaming

I think it is a very boring name, no bad connotations or anything just really bland.
Thats my name ☹. I guess I fit my name though 🙂.
HomeHomeInTheRange · 28/03/2022 22:37

Lucy is a great name.

Borris · 28/03/2022 22:42

Lucie is the Beatrix potter spelling on Mrs tiggywinkle so don't think it's that new!

There’s your answer OP
peaceinourtime · 28/03/2022 23:14

Lucie the French spelling is nice. I knew a Lucie in primary school.

Luredbyapomegranate · 29/03/2022 03:06

Lucy is a better spelling, using the French is just fussy (unless you are French)

It’s ok, but a bit little girly. I like Lucienne

TheLadyDIdGood · 29/03/2022 03:10

Lucy or Lucia because Lucie looks like you've misspelled Lucia.

Topseyt · 29/03/2022 12:51

I have a Lucy. I love the name and so does she (she's almost 20 now).

Spell it correctly though, or she'll be in for a lifetime of explaining it. It is Lucy. Why take a lovely, classic name and spell it incorrectly?

WhatAWasteOfOranges · 29/03/2022 12:52

I have a lovely friend called Lucie, though I believe it’s short for Lucinda - though she doesn’t let that on to many people.

Buttercup54321 · 29/03/2022 19:05

Much prefer Lucy.

KatsuKatsu · 29/03/2022 19:39

Lucy or Lucille

DogsAndGin · 29/03/2022 20:58

For those saying Lucy is a NN. It isn’t a nn, it is a name in itself. I really like the name Lucy, and every Lucy I have known has been a really sparkly, successful person

unibrowww · 01/04/2022 10:52

Nice name prefer it spelt with y.
