Felix and Guy
Ideally, please say why too, thanks!
Feel free to mention others you think I may like
@dumptrucksandcranes it screams generic bloke to me. That guy over there. I've met a guy. I bought it from a guy in the pub. There's a guy taking a dump in the bushes etc.
Yes, exactly! Grin

Plus it's pronounced 'Gee' in French, which also puts me off.

I'm not wild about Felix, for some more complex reason -- I think I just don't care for the combination of sounds...

StampOnTheGround · 23/03/2022 10:40

Felix, I also cannot stand the name Guy 😂

Joystir59 · 23/03/2022 10:43

Can't choose between them. They are both perfectly acceptable.

PatterPaws · 23/03/2022 10:43

Guy - not great as it's used to mean random nameless male

Felix - nice

Joystir59 · 23/03/2022 10:44

I knew a lovely gentle nerdy poet called Guy, so I feel positive about the name, but I think really Felix is much stronger.

Joystir59 · 23/03/2022 10:45

@Lilaclavenders

Guy - strong, classic and underused

I don't like Felix as it's a well known cat food

How about

Raphael
Quentin
Marcus

I love how this always happens on this thread in response to a very specific request, people throw in their own unrelated favourites.

@whysoserious123

Felix the cat Guy Fawkes

Alternative
Sidney
Parker
Rory
Jaxson
Albie

Jaxson is ridiculous
Kanaloa · 23/03/2022 11:14

Felix is fine. I really don’t like Guy. It just doesn’t seem like a name to me.

ChristmasJumpers · 23/03/2022 11:18

I work with someone called Guy and I feel like I'm taking the mick out of him every time I ring and say say "Hi Guy". The use of Guy as a description is so common that it feel so odd to say it as someone's name

I loooove Felix but not allowed to use it because I have 3 cats so it will tip me right over the crazy cat lady line 😂 hoping I have a girl for Felicity instead

LabelMaker · 23/03/2022 12:48

Guy

I hate felix

OverTheWater · 23/03/2022 12:54

Love Guy. It was our choice for dc2 who turned out to be a dd. It's a really cool name, and it has never been particularly popular which imo means it hasn't really dated. I think it's a strong name too (although admittedly the one Guy I know is a red trousers type).

There was a thread asking for opinions on Guy last year which got lots of lovely comments.

Felix I think is very "now" and will date more, if that bothers you.

MargaritasOnMe · 23/03/2022 12:56

I love the name Felix. Honestly I love any name with an 'x' in it, as I really like the sound! I don't mind Guy but I think it is a bit bland.

@MrsSkylerWhite

(Guy is a late middle-aged salesman who gels his hair and tells himself he still “has it” as he looks into the Travelodge mirror 🥴)
This is the exact image Guy conjures up for me. And smells like he bathed in Joop aftershave.

@Joystir59 the op specifically asked people to "Feel free to mention others you think I may like"
