Anyone looking for a cool name for their baby boy could not do much better, in my opinion, than Volodymyr.

It means bright and famous ( as does Robert, but it's not the same name).

It can be shortened to Volodyk, Volodia and Vlodko, but I like the idea of Volo.

Or, if you taste is less traditional, maybe Zelensky (or, as they spell it in the Guardian, Zelenskiy).

Stand with Ukraine. Glory to Ukraine.

I do love that someone Ukrainian has posted saying Volodymyr is a terrible name.

Surely the most important thing at the moment, however much you may love the name, even it's a family name and you've loved it all your life, is not to call your baby Vladimir.

I work in a private school, there are quite a few Russian families. One family have 3 sons, all called Vladimir! Talk about confusing

You could call him Voddy for short.
