Please give me some inspiration! Ideally we like slightly unusual names that are easy to pronounce in both English and French.

Thanks!

Would you not think Ivo with Theo or Hugo (or any o ending name) would be a bit much? Or is it actually ok?!

I love Ivo! It was top of my list for DC2 if she'd been a boy.

I assume you're an English/French family (or French living in U.K. or vice versa) hence wanting the name to work in both languages.

I love Max (full name Maxime) but it might be too popular for your taste?

The Ivo I know lives in the UK with his English mother and French father. His older brother is Drummond. No idea if that causes pronunciation issues in France, but it's a cool name.

I think another name starting with a vowel or a name with another V or an X or Z seems to match well.

Elias and ivo sound nice

NameChange30 · 03/03/2022 08:40

My French DH wasn't keen on the "-ass" sound at the end of Tobias and I expect there would be the same issue with Elias.

It's true that a lot of unpleasant slang words end in "asse"!
