But can't be Kate, Rose or Louise (3 girls already!!) and I'm not keen on May or any variation of May. TIA

I much prefer Gracie to Grace. I might be biased because I have a Gracie! (Gracie on birth certificate)
Those saying it’s too cute, it’s no different to Freddie, Alfie, Rosie, Katie, Millie, which are also all diminutives of other names. The ‘ie’ and ‘nicknamey’ names are all on trend at the moment, in 40 years time all our CEO’s and surgeons are etc will have these names!! Just like I cannot personally imagine a baby Angela or a baby Karen? But 50 years ago there was plenty of them being born.

Gracie was also very popular in the 1800’s, so it’s extremely old fashioned (if your happy with that( and classic.

Gracie on the birth certificate and she has the option to go by Grace if she chooses to one day, just like Katie might go by Kate or Deborah may go by Debbie and so on…

Anyway, in regards to the above..
I LOVE
Gracie Florence
Gracie Olivia
Gracie Evelyn

Good luck x

Why? What’s wrong with Gracie on BC, nn Gracie?

Mumsnet users have an utter obsession with having ‘formal’ names on birth certificates - it’s 2022 for goodness sake! I just don’t understand it, lol

Gracie is perfect, she can go by Grace if she chooses to in later life, just as the Evie’s may choose to go by Eve, or Katie might go by Kate, Rosie might go by rose..

Don’t forget names grow with generations Smile

I also agree with Grace instead of Gracie (i have a Grace)

What are your other girls middle names for? Are they a tribute to relatives or just filler?

LBFseBrom · 26/03/2022 12:48

Why 'Gracie' and not 'Grace'? Grace is a lovely, classic name and people will sometimes call her, 'Gracie'; however, having 'Gracie' as a given name is a bit chavvy in my opinion.

I've no idea what you would give as a second name if you did go ahead with 'Gracie'; maybe choose your name or that of a grandmother, favourite aunt or similar. Thinking about it, Laura is nice.

cptartapp · 26/03/2022 12:52

Grace Alexandra. Not keen on Gracie or any of the billions of ie ending names.

Gracie Catherine or Gracie Victoria otherwise.

Lurking9to5 · 26/03/2022 12:55

I think something starting with a consonant that doesn't end in a vowel sound either.

Not a fan of Catherine
but Gracie Catherine sounds good. Gracie Margaret, Gracie Jennifer
Gracie Marianne,

Many lovely suggestions... but I'd avoid Gracie Louise/ Louisa. This will be for reasons clear to anyone who has watched Miss Congeniality with Sandra Bullock!!!
I knew a Gracie Rowena and the Rs seem to go well too. Gracie Ruth, Gracie Rosalind, Gracie Rose, but depends on the surname of course.

GracieandMartha · 26/05/2022 20:49

Hey - what did you go for?

I have a Gracie Louisa J… and a Martha Florence J…
My girls are twins (8 y/o) and I’m always complimented on my name choices. Both middle names were after my two grandmothers (Louisa & Florence)

My great Gran was also ‘Gracie’ on birth certificate. She was born 1902! It’s actually a very old fashioned name, it’s not chavy at all as per one comment above! 🤣

I love Gracie Olivia and Gracie Evelyn too.
I think Gracie May is gorgeous but extremely overused.

Its a gorgeous, simple and classic name in my opinion. Albeit slightly popular for babies being born 2018/19/20/21/22.. but popular for a reason!

Good luck.
