I loved this name with dd1 but didn't use it due to how popular it supposedly was.. that being said 3 children later and I have never met one.
When you hear this name what do you think?

I think it’s popularity has settled a bit, so it’s probably not over-used now. However it was very popular about 12 years ago, in my dd’s primary there were 5 girls in her 2 form year group, collectively known as The Ruby’s and had to be known by their surname initial too, so Ruby L etc. My dd was very glad not to be one of many.

My daughter (7) is Ruby - there are 2 in her year (3 classes in the year).

Years ago when I was pregnant,28 of us where pregnant at the same time at the school our other kids went to
I had a girl, called her mae,my mate had a Sophie and another lady had the only boy she called Ewan
Be by one,all the other pregnant mums had their babies-every single one was called ruby!
It’s a lovely name but put me off it-by the time they hit 5 years old,the school ended up with 18 rubys! (We lived near the uni so I guess the others moved on to other schools)

It is a really pretty name though-I work with one and she’s lovely

It's my favourite precious stone and I love it as a name.
