Absolutely love it 😍

alorslanon · 16/02/2022 23:13

Nickname for Charlotte

Cheekypeach · 16/02/2022 23:14

It’s a MN seal of approval name so I’m not keen.

Reminds me of the Lottie Doll book by Jacqueline Wilson.

DramaAlpaca · 16/02/2022 23:31

Lovely, but not on its own. For me it would need to be short for Charlotte.

Rachaelrachael · 16/02/2022 23:31

I have a Lottie so obviously I love it! She is Charlotte on her birth certificate though so she has the option of a more 'adult' name when she's older

vitaminC · 16/02/2022 23:32

Only if it's short for Charlotte.

MinglingFlamingo · 16/02/2022 23:36

I like Charlotte and the nm Lottie. I'd go for Charlotte on the basis dd might prefer to be called Charlie in the future or something.

Mackmama · 17/02/2022 00:02

I find it difficult to say in my regional accent so it wouldn’t be my choice.

blameitonthecaffeine · 17/02/2022 00:10

I love Charlotte. Less keen on Lottie but it's ok.

Greenbluestar · 17/02/2022 00:16

Really not keen on Charlotte. Lottie is ok but a little posh.

Zillamop · 17/02/2022 01:31

I find it a bit prissy.

toastofthetown · 17/02/2022 07:47

It's a bit twee and dull for me. But then I'm over the -ie/-y nickname trend so for me it just fits into a whole category of names I'm thoroughly bored with. It's popular though, so that's just my opinion.

Hikoridikori · 17/02/2022 08:05

I find it dull too. I would much better prefer the full name Charlotte. Lottie has not much substance...

I also don't like all the -ie names (Charlie, Freddie), I prefer either full names or small autonomous names like Otis, Ethan etc. that don't have a nn.

DarkCorner · 17/02/2022 08:08

I like it but as a nn for Charlotte.

Pinkywoo · 17/02/2022 08:09

It was slang for boobs when I was at school!

SandysMam · 17/02/2022 08:10

It makes me think of Kate Moss’s naked sister!

paddingtonsmarmalade1 · 17/02/2022 08:11

I have a Charlotte with the nickname Lottie. I call her both as I love Charlotte, but Lottie just developed and now I love that too.

I think a grown up name for the birth certificate is important. But that's personal preference.

Bromse · 17/02/2022 08:11

Charlotte is lovely with 'Lottie' as a diminutive.

NaerDoWell · 17/02/2022 08:11

It's too 'cutesy' for my taste.

I do like Charlotte though. And most people seem to like Lottie too!

Yousexybugger · 17/02/2022 08:13

Ok as a nickname for Charlotte (although I think Charlie is nicer). Twee on its own.

HandWash · 17/02/2022 08:18

Sickly cute.

Meandthesky · 17/02/2022 09:03

Love it as a nickname for Charlotte

Blubells · 17/02/2022 09:20

Way too twee and cutesy imo

Alcoholfree1 · 17/02/2022 09:39

I had it years ago then went off it thinking it was too cutesy
I have a son Ethan
I recently met a girl called lottie and have fallen in love with it again

I like others only like it as a nickname for Charlotte.
