Annabel sounds very girly and pink. Jasmine not so much.

Easterbunnyiswindowshopping · 13/02/2022 10:18

Op do you know there is a range of Baby Annabel dolls?

MiracleBaby2022 · 13/02/2022 10:26

@Easterbunnyiswindowshopping I do, yes

Jasmine

Annabel always sounds a bit little girlish. I really dislike the Annabelle spelling.

TatianaBis · 13/02/2022 11:19

Prefer Christabel.

georgarina · 13/02/2022 12:37

I would pick Jasmine - it does have a bit of a dated 90s feel to it, a la Destiny, but that might be fading away now.

Annabel(le) has always struck me as a slightly annoying MC name (sorry!)

Blubells · 13/02/2022 13:06

Both fine.

But Annabel is much nicer than Annabelle, which has the emphasis on the BELLE. Way too frilly too imo.

StopForAMinute · 13/02/2022 14:26

Annabel.

cptartapp · 13/02/2022 14:37

Jasmine.
Less 'wet' and dolly-like.

mUserBot9to5 · 13/02/2022 14:41

Annabel but Jasmine is ok. Reminds me of Rice though!

RavenclawsRoar · 13/02/2022 14:44

I like both. I don't know which I'd pick - Annabel is lovely (and I've never taught a horrible Annabel!) but Jasmine sounds fresher. I asked dh and he said Jasmine is "too disney" so make of that what you will Grin

TabithaHazel · 13/02/2022 14:49

@JazzyBBG

I have one of each so would consider myself an expert on this subject - albeit one is a cat - I will let you figure out which one. And Annabel is the correct British spelling. Great names ;)
Annabel is a really cute name for a cat, I might steal it for the kitten we are getting soon :)
CanIbeRio · 13/02/2022 14:55

My dd us called Annabelle so I'm biased towards that. We chose this spelling bc I feel the Annabel spelling looks unfinished abs because belle means pretty in French. It's such a pretty, elegant name and I've only ever come across 2 other teenage Annabel(le)s. All that said, Jasmine is a very pretty name too

Luredbyapomegranate · 13/02/2022 20:26

Jasmine

But quite like Annabel

Cheermonger · 13/02/2022 20:28

Annabel is a lovely name, timeless.

CakeAmbushAlert · 13/02/2022 20:33

Jasmine.

Annabels was a sloany nightclub wasn't it? It also sounds like the baby doll, so I can't take it seriously for an adult.

How about Anna?

Caramelcap · 13/02/2022 21:46

Love Jasmine - was on my girls list

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 13/02/2022 21:48

annabelle 100%

Marcipex · 13/02/2022 21:58

I like Annabel, but Jasmine is pretty too.

MiracleBaby2022 · 14/02/2022 17:34

Thank you all for your opinions! I'm still really struggling and pondering other options. I'm 34 weeks pregnant now so not got too much time left to decide!

Annabel often gets misspelled - Anabell, Annabell, Annabelle, Annabel etc

babyjellyfish · 16/02/2022 12:39

Both lovely names although I think the Annabelle spelling is too frilly and prefer Annabel. No spelling issues with Jasmine.

goingcovidcrazy · 16/02/2022 22:10

Jasmine

wishing3 · 17/02/2022 21:37

Jasmine for me. Anabel sounds a bit too girly/frilly to my ears.

KohlaParasaurus · 17/02/2022 22:10

I love both names but Annabel is more timeless.
