If you like the same boy names as I do, what’s your favourite girl’s name?

For boys I like Jasper, James, Ralph and Rory.

My favourite girls' names are far too out there for MN, so I will give acceptable examples:

I love Sabrina but the teenage witch association is still too strong for me I think.

Vivienne was my favourite name when I was a child - I decided I was going to have twins called Leo and Vivienne.

Some lovely suggestions but I don’t think I’ve found the one yet.

Really like Zoe but I used to work with one who I did not like at all, and that’s put me off.

Funny you should mention Saskia - I was thinking about it the other day. I do like it - is it too unusual though?

Madeline Darcy Riley Talia Adelaide Elouise

RavenclawsRoar · 12/02/2022 10:48

I wouldn't say Saskia is too unusual. I've taught a few over the years. Certainly not unheard of in England anyway (not sure where you are!). I like it!

TatianaBis · 12/02/2022 11:00

It really depends how conservative you are.

I’d say Saskia was a safe bogstandard middle of the road name.

ThatPosterIsSoRight · 12/02/2022 15:13

Saskia is a lovely name. I don’t think it’s rare, nor is it common.

I was in a park once and a mum was calling “Oliver! Saskia!” and another mum turned round and said “I have Oliver and Saskia too!”.

(This was in the most mumsnetty town I know though, so not representative of the normal population).
