Rose or Serena to go with Leo

I'm having boy/girl twins and we want the boy to be called Leo middle name Jack. At first I was set on Rose but is that too linked to titanic? It'd be Rose Evelyn. Also worried Rose is too boring. The other choice is Serena not sure of a middle name maybe Rose still but just worried about the jack and Rose thing. Am I thinking too much into the titanic link?

I too thought Titanic straight away. I think, if you like the name Serena, Serena Rose is absolutely fine though. Or how about Rosie as a first name?

I don't really want the ee sound on the end as our surname won't go as its also an ee sound. The middle name for Leo could be Patrick but my partner is quite set on Jack after a family member. If you take out the Jack is Rose and Leo still too Titanic?

Leo, Jack and Rose is very very titanic.

Leo and Rosa?

Hllouise1702 · 06/02/2022 13:35

OK thanks! I'd love Rosa but I already have 2 in the family

Serena is lovely.

DramaAlpaca · 06/02/2022 13:38

I think Leo and Serena is a great combination.

Rrrob · 06/02/2022 14:05

I thought of Titanic too, sorry. Leo and Rosie or Rosa would be good though.

Congratulations on your twins, I have toddler b/g twins and it’s such fun.

SoupDragon · 06/02/2022 14:07

I think Serena. Serena Rose is lovely.

Luredbyapomegranate · 06/02/2022 14:43

I’d go for Serena simply because it’s at least as lovely as Rose and far less popular

Jack and Rose is pretty damn Titanic, I wouldn’t let it stop you but the jokes could get v tiresome

Luredbyapomegranate · 06/02/2022 14:46

Oh sorry, I see you mean Leo and Rose!

In that case I think it’s fine, but I’d still go for Serena on the popularity front

CrackerGal · 06/02/2022 14:47

I don't think any of your kids peer group will be automatically thinking titanic.
Only older people will think that.
It's a pretty old film now.
I doubt anyone in their early 20s would make the connection either?

Leo and Serena don't really flow. Rose is lovely and Titanic didn't occur to me.

Fivebeanchilli · 06/02/2022 14:53

Leo and Rose is lovely.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 06/02/2022 15:47

Rose and Leo are fine and "work" better together (if that matters) than Serena and Leo imo - simply because both are short and popular, where as Serena (while equally lovely) is much more uncommon.

The Titanic link might be more obvious if it was Rose and Jack (as a first name), but few people will care about or even know your Leo's middle name, or link very popular boys name Leo with Leonardo DiCaprio particularly.

MajorCarolDanvers · 06/02/2022 15:50

Rose is a bit titanic but a lovely name.

Serena is too much.

DoodleBelle · 06/02/2022 23:52

I too thought Titanic when I read the title but it was only a passing thought I think either name would be lovely actually.

Aria999 · 07/02/2022 00:03

Rosana? Rosalind?

saraclara · 07/02/2022 00:09

Rose. Jack is the middle name that most people won't even know he has. And even if they do...Will I haven't given my DD's middle names a thought since they were about three, so I thought if anyone else who knew what they were will remember. I couldn't even tell you my nephew and niece's middle names..

The middle name threads on MN make me laugh. As a parent of adults, I can tell you now that they're absolutely meaningless for 95% of your offspring's lives.

EgbertNoBac0n · 07/02/2022 11:29

I instantly thought Titanic too (sorry!)

I’d go for Serena if you love it BUT I think there’s a better match out there.
