We’ve decided on Rowena for a baby girl, and Margaret and Sarah are both family names. Which order of names sounds better to you?

Rowena Margaret Sarah

Though it may depend on your surname...

Luredbyapomegranate · 04/02/2022 12:57

I think Sarah Margaret, but agree with PP may depend on surname

rowenamum · 04/02/2022 13:23

Surname is two syllables and begins with a hard C. A bit like Cullen.

I like Rowena Sarah Margaret
How are you pronouncing Rowena?

Cheekypeach · 04/02/2022 18:42

It’s very old fashioned. I would go Sarah Margaret, but I think something a bit more modern in there might freshen it up.

DoodleBelle · 04/02/2022 18:47

Sarah Margaret

OnlyAFleshWound · 04/02/2022 18:47

Are you having a baby or a 1970s Sunday School teacher?

StrychnineIntheSandwiches · 04/02/2022 18:49

I like old fashioned middle names. It generally means they're being given the names of much loved relatives.

Jellycatrabbit · 04/02/2022 18:49

Sarah Margaret

I know a couple of baby Margarets, I think it's on its way back in. Great choice.

Dillydollydingdong · 04/02/2022 18:49

Sarah is a lovely name and not too old fashioned. I'd put that first. Margaret is a bit OF but seems to stay popular. Rowena is very dated. We had a Rowena in our class when I was at school 60 years ago.

ClariceQuiff · 04/02/2022 18:51

Rowena Sarah Margaret

or

Sarah Rowena Margaret

VanillaAndOrange · 08/02/2022 21:46

Rowena Margaret Sarah. I'd avoid putting two names that end with the same "A" sound side by side. For what it's worth, I think this is a gorgeous name, and Rowena is too rare to be associated with any particular age group for me.

Georgeskitchen · 08/02/2022 21:49

Rowen Margaret Sarah flows well

Firebird83 · 08/02/2022 22:42

Rowena Margaret Sarah

Rowena Margaret Sarah imo and great choice Rowena is one of my regrets I never used its so pretty

babyjellyfish · 09/02/2022 11:11

Rowena and Sarah sound quite similar with the "a" vowel sound at the end so I'd go for Rowena Margaret Sarah to break things up a bit.
