Harriet and Lucas are my favourites :)

Also like Annie, Cary's, Carrie, Billy, Rowan and Freddie (not Frederick).

Blubells · 02/02/2022 08:26

I only like Anastasia and Lucian.

Ceramide · 02/02/2022 08:30

My top picks would be Anastasia, Jennifer, Henry and Frederick.

steppemum · 02/02/2022 08:33

Lots of nice names in there.
Obviously I would have preferences, but they are all good names.

My only comment is that Jolie doesn't seem to fit the naming style of the others.
and Billy really does feel like it is a nn, and not a full name, so I would be tempted to use full name on birth certificate

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 02/02/2022 08:37

Love Jennifer- second is Jolie

Love Lucas but very popular- Vincent is nice and a bit more edgy

dementedma · 02/02/2022 08:41

I love Annie.
For boys Lucas and Vincent

rambleonplease · 02/02/2022 08:53

Harriet and Carys

Lucas and Rowan

toastofthetown · 02/02/2022 09:00

Annie - fine, prefer it as a nickname but not dreadful on its own
Anastasia - bit much for me. I like the Russian pronunciation, not the English one but would be an uphill battle
Jennifer - dated and a bit blah
Harriet - it’s fine, inoffensive
Carys - dislike Carys
Carrie - not a fan of Carrie either (but that might just be that every Carrie I’ve know has been very annoying)
Jolie - nope

For boys:
Billy - I’m not into the diminutive as a full name trend, but it’s popular enough
Henry - Henry is lovely (but popular)
Frederick (Freddie) - fine, again very popular
Lucian - very nice
Lucas - feels a bit ‘wet’ to me
Rowan - lovely, but popular
Vincent - Vincent is great, but I wouldn’t use it as I don’t like Vince or Vinnie

InisnaBro · 02/02/2022 09:04

Annie, Lucas or Lucian.

Jolie is terrible — would you pronounce in the French way, ‘Zhol-EE’, or with an English J as ‘JOE-lee’?

Mumofgirls2017 · 02/02/2022 09:06

Annie- ok but prefer as nn for Annabelle or Anastasia (just on its own, not as a diminutive of Anne)
Anastasia- ok will probably be shortened
Jennifer- nice but dated
Harriet- ok
Carys- not for me
Carrie- dated
Jolie- quite like

For boys:
Billy- short for William
Henry- like
Frederick (Freddie)- like
Lucian- ok
Lucas- bit overdone
Rowan- like
Vincent- like

MyGlassKeepsLeaking · 02/02/2022 09:15

I only like
Carys
Lucas
Rowan

Fivebeanchilli · 02/02/2022 09:30

Annie (just on its own, not as a diminutive of Anne) - my DD has 2 lovely friends called Annie. Both are Anna on the birth certificate but I wouldn't have known. I have a soft spot for it because of them but it's too informal for me personally
Anastasia - I like this a lot
Jennifer - I'm not a fan. Feels very 70s to me.
Harriet - I love this, especially with Hattie as a nn
Carys - I love this too
Carrie - not keen
Jolie - I've never heard this. French for pretty? I don't like it. It's like calling a boy Adonis

Billy - don't like this at all though I do like William and Will
Henry - nice
Frederick (Freddie) - nice
Lucian - gorgeous. DS has 3 friends of this name
Lucas - ok
Rowan - I like it for a girl, not keen for a boy
Vincent - not keen

Harriet or Carys for me for a girl and Lucian for a boy

KirstenBlest · 02/02/2022 09:42

For girls -
Annie (just on its own, not as a diminutive of Anne) - fine
Anastasia -too long
Jennifer - fine
Harriet - fine
Carys - dislike
Carrie - ok if short for Caroline
Jolie - awful

For boys:
Billy - fine if short for William
Henry - fine
Frederick (Freddie) - ok
Lucian - dreadful
Lucas - ok
Rowan - ok but lots of R names very popular
Vincent - don't like

Flutterflybutterby · 02/02/2022 09:42

Annie, Harriet, Carrie and Lucian 😍😍😍

rollercoasterofemotions · 02/02/2022 09:44

Ooh I love love love Anastasia and Jennifer for a girl! And Lucian for a boy! Wonderful names Smile

Luredbyapomegranate · 02/02/2022 19:34

Carys or Lucian would be my top choices

Annie - too housemaid as a full name, sweet nn
Anastasia - bit much
Jennifer - like it, Jennie a nice Nn
Harriet - OK
Carys - love it
Carrie - if short for Caroline, not as a full name
Jolie - NO (behave)

Others - Annis, Lois, Ines, Frances, Linos, Marianne, Cecilia, Cordelia, Antonia, Cassia, Claudia, Serena, Annabeth, Annalise

For boys:
Billy - if short for William, as a full time it’s in the ‘naughty boys’ catagory
Henry - nice, v overused tho.
Frederick (Freddie) - ditto
Lucian - nice, underused
Lucas - nice, overused
Rowan - nice overused, will date to right now
Vincent - No thuggish

Others - Cassian, Dominic, Julius, Rufus, Ronan, Victor, Laurence, Arnold nn Arnie

TallulahHula · 02/02/2022 19:36

Annie and Rowan are my favourites by a country mile.

StopForAMinute · 02/02/2022 19:45

I love Annie, Carys and Carrie. Also love Billy and Rowan.

StickyStickyStickStickSong · 02/02/2022 19:53

Annie and Rowan

WaitinginVain · 02/02/2022 21:18

They're very different but I like Anastasia and Carys best for a girl.
Rowan is the only one on your list that I like for a boy.

RestingStitchFace · 02/02/2022 22:06

Annie, Carys and Carrie are all lovely. Can't even begin to sum up how much I loathe Anastasia.

Am not massively sold on any of the boy names. Rowan at a push maybe....

Kshhuxnxk · 02/02/2022 22:16

Lucas is the only name out of all of them I like.

wingsofabird · 03/02/2022 07:40

Your girls list is great! Love all of them espcially Carrie and Jenifer

For boys:
Billy- love - nice fun name
Henry - love - a classic classy name
Frederick (Freddie) - nice classic name but Freddie quite popular
Lucian - nice
Rowan - much prefer for a girl. Don't like inevitable shortening to Row. Too similar to the name RoMan which is fastest rising boy name and is now top 30 (and still rising) so likely to get misheard. Overall, too trendy along with all the other 'Ro...' top 100 names (Rory,Ronnie,Roman) and will date. Your other choices are nicer.
Vincent - love - favourite , familiar but not overused. A bit different but not try hard. Great choice.

bloominglovelyorange · 03/02/2022 11:20

You have great lists of names. I adore Vincent and Billy!!

Rowan is my baby girl's name and if I'd realised about the popularity of Roman with an M I'd never have picked it. There's 3 baby Roman's just been born in our area. Gets me down. Suspected Roman must be one of the top rising names so not suprised to read that it is. I also don't like shortening to Row. I've asked people not to call her Row but it happens anyway. The Rowans (with a W) I know are all girls but I know it's unisex. If baby was a boy I didn't want to use Rowan in case it becomes a solely girl name the way unisex names tend to.
