My DD is 15 months and named Billie. Not after the singer. Just wondered if there are any others? 😊

Leadust92 · 03/01/2022 15:37

I really like it. I’ve loved the name Billie for a girl since I was really young. And there were 224 babies named Billie born in 2020, according to the site names.darkgreener.com.

Leadust92 · 03/01/2022 20:34

@Princessbelle7 ahh thank you! I’ve always liked it too and it also has sentimental meaning behind it. Thank you for the website.

I knew a sweet old lady with this name, born in 1928!

Firebird83 · 06/01/2022 17:30

I know a 4 year old Billie.

Onlinedilema · 06/01/2022 22:20

I know Billie Jean.

RedCandyApple · 06/01/2022 22:25

Knew one growing up but never met another since

DoucheCanoe · 06/01/2022 22:32

I know 4 - 3 females and 1 male between 2 and 35!

It's nice enough :)

Leadust92 · 07/01/2022 07:27

I have just named my daughter Billie and I have not had a very good reactions to the name. I am also sick of having to explain she's a girl with that name.

Twinkle92 · 26/07/2022 07:36

@Depoisthedevil I’m sorry you haven’t had good reactions. I haven’t had any bad reactions, my family love it. Have had a couple of people say he when I’ve spoken about her and then when I’ve corrected them say, “oh Billie is a girl.” It’s only like Jamie, Ashleigh, Toni etc. I know it’s different but I like that. There won’t be 5 of the same name in her classes. I had a few people saying he when she was younger, like at the doctors when I booked appointments. But now her hair has come in nobody confuses it. Don’t let it put you off her name, it’s unique and lovely.

There's the actress and a couple of famous people (Sir LH and DF, now divorced) have a daughter with the name. There was a famous actress called Billie Whitelaw, and there's Ms Eilish. It's not particularly new or unheard of.
I quite like it.

SecretSnake · 26/07/2022 10:57

My cousin is Billie May. Always Billie May though, no one’s every called her just Billie.

pinklavenders · 26/07/2022 11:15

Billie Eilish is pretty well known. I like Billie for a girl.

It's too cutesy for a boy imo

Depoisthedevil · 26/07/2022 12:18

My daughter's is called Billie Maeve. Maybe I should call her both names.

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 26/07/2022 13:56

My friend's 2 yr old daughter is a Billie. It suits her.

Don't forget Billie Holiday. The foremost Billie in my opinion Smile

4 at the nursery I work in
Either Billie mae /may or Billie Rae / Ray

pinklavenders · 26/07/2022 14:11

I know a Belinda nicknamed Billie

drinkallthecoffee · 26/07/2022 14:11

I know someone with a 13 month old Billie. I used to really dislike it but I actually love it now!

I also think it would be really cool as a nickname for Willow! If William can be Billy surely Willow can be Billie?!

blameitonthecaffeine · 26/07/2022 14:53

I went to school with a Billie-Jo. Never met a Billie on its own but I do like it for a girl. Not keen on Billy for a boy for some reason.

There used to be a poster on here who had lost a teenage daughter called Billie to cancer - a really beautiful, happy, kind looking girl. I've always thought of it positively since then.

Twinkle92 · 26/07/2022 16:04

Billie Piper also, Billie Faiers.. there are quite a few famous ones. I think it really suits my daughter and I like she has a unique name. Everyone has their own opinions of course and that’s fine 😊

GreenClock · 26/07/2022 16:22

The one I know would have been born in around 1928 also. Her given name was Wilhelmina. She was my GP when I was a little kid/teen but my parents were on first name terms with her through friends.
