Thoughts?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Olga03 · 27/12/2021 23:42

Wait for it - legendary.
I'm honestly surprised that nobody else seems to associate it with Barney Stinson from How I met your mother.
To the name itself, I think it's fine :)

Lalliella · 27/12/2021 23:57

Barney Rubble. Barney the dinosaur. Barney the argument. Just no, OP.

Rivermonsters · 28/12/2021 10:06

Makes me think of Bushes dog and the famous purple dinosaur

wingsofabird · 28/12/2021 14:17

One of my favourite names
Love it

DropYourSword · 28/12/2021 14:19

It’s cute!

EishetChayil · 28/12/2021 17:35

Barney is quite cute but Barnabas is extraordinarily ugly.

Jtb5790 · 30/12/2021 13:13

A bit too "out there" for me

MintMatchmaker · 30/12/2021 13:15

If you call him at the park you’ll find dogs come running!

Beamur · 30/12/2021 13:18

I love it. It's a sweet, warm name. Was on my list.

Mummyx100 · 03/01/2023 13:37

I know this is an old post... but who do some people think they are.. Jesus! I liked this. Site then come across this post.most names are dogs names... max, Jackson, Ben and so on! Turning your nose up and the comments, good grief. Give your heads a wobble

mondler · 03/01/2023 14:38

I'm not a fan but if you like it then go for it op. No one will love every name so go with your heart. Before covid kicked in we knew 3 Barneys/Barnabys from various playgroups/baby clubs.

SugarNspices · 03/01/2023 14:42

No, what's with wanting to name baby boys like teddy bears?!

Spenn · 03/01/2023 14:43

I'd think you were a darts fan. Could have siblings called Rapid, Rocky, The Ferret, The Aubergenius and The Bronzed Adonis...

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 03/01/2023 14:47

Lovely big old english sheep dog

thefarrierswife · 03/01/2023 15:27

Love it, can't imagine a grumpy Barney. I know a young and older Barney, works for both. Don't think it needs a longer version. There's connections to every name and you could go a lot worse than dogs and a friendly dinosaur, neither which I think are connections in real life.

AllOfThemWitches · 03/01/2023 15:31

I actually think it's cute.

ChildrenOfTheQuorn · 03/01/2023 15:36

I actually like it too. I'm actually surprised by all the negative comments.

Rawrrawr1 · 03/01/2023 15:40

I have a toddler Barney, he is Barnaby on his BC..he suits his name, is very outgoing and most of the time thinks he's a dinosaur 😆
I have never had a weird comment about his name..go for it

EddietheEagle · 03/01/2023 18:40

God no

ofwarren · 03/01/2023 18:41

This post is a year old

Twoinapod · 03/01/2023 18:45

Unless you have a “traditional” name most people on here will dislike it and make ridiculous comments. In real life you don’t get the ridiculousness. I like Barney, actually know of a little boy called Barney and has absolutely no issues. He got shown Barney the dinosaur and thinks it’s amazing to have the same name as a dinosaur.

EddietheEagle · 03/01/2023 18:46

@Mummyx100 You've woken a zombie thread 🧟‍♀️

JazbayGrapes · 07/01/2023 16:26

my dog

Mummyx100 · 08/01/2023 08:17

@EddietheEagle I know 😂I was just in disbelief people actually can sit at home And write negative comments about a NAME but would they do it on person ? Of course not.
You can have any name and it sounds like something els, characters of a show, rhymes with other words that could be said by children, too old, too out their, too common and for gods sake the dog thing. People who have a dog first normally treat it like a baby and give it well known name. I have a hamster called "Theo" named by my 4 year old. I'm not gonna warn anyone I know not to call A baby Theo because it's now a Hamster name.
