Barney.

I've woken up loving it, I think it's a really sweet little boys name, but worried people will think it's silly or be reminded of the dinosaur or Barney rubble. Also do we call him barnabus or barnaby or are these worse?

@Marcipex

I like it, especially Barnabas. Bernard is awful. Look at Not Now Bernard to convince you.
Oh that book makes me so sad! No not Bernard, that's a step too far!

Doesn’t Barney also mean an argument? As in have a Barney?

Onlinedilema · 24/12/2021 22:45

I really like Barnaby.
Loved Barnaby the Bear.

I love the name Barney. I think short for Barnaby is best, Barnaby is also a lovely name. There was the most handsome boy at my secondary school called Barney. He was very popular.

Hohofortherobbers · 24/12/2021 22:49

Barney is nice, I know a Barney and I have never thought of the dinosaur or the cave man

Mumofgirls2017 · 26/12/2021 08:35

I’d go for Barnaby nn Barney then he has options when older.

Riverlee · 26/12/2021 08:40

Barney name.

The first Barney I thought of was Barney Walsh, Bradley Walsh’s son.

Also like Barnaby.

All names can have a negative connotation if you look hard enough. Doesn’t stop parents calling their dc William (Willy), etc

I like Barney. X

VenusClapTrap · 27/12/2021 08:31

I don’t like it personally. It’s too comedic, too cartoon character for me.

Edenember · 29/12/2021 17:05

I’m not keen on Barney, but I love Barnaby.
