Help baby name dilema

What’s everyone thoughts on Marlow or Monty for our boy born 4 days ago? We’ve had awful trouble deciding on a name and it’s taken us this long to find a common ground on two.
His older sister is called mabelle. It wasn’t intentional to have them both with an M name it seems M names are what we like 🙈

Montgomery with Monty for short would be lovely.

Did I go wrong naming my DC Fido, Samuel Whiskers and Flopsy???

I’ve taught a lovely male Marlow and a lovely Monty (short for Montagu, which is better). I think both are nice!

I think Marlow sounds like a girls name (even though maybe it isn't without the e at the end).

I like Montgomery with Monty as a nickname but not Monty on its own.

Of the 2, I'd pick Monty - I might assume it was short for Montague or Montgomery but it's fine alone too imo. I see it as a perhaps slightly upper class sounding men's name (Monty Don etc) rather than a dogs name?

Marlow is the opposite in that it sounds a bit trendy/downmarket to me and also very unisex if that matters as well (it may get frequently misspelt as the "girls" Marlowe).

I love Marlow. Monty says "dog's name" to me.

Marlowe seems very celeb-y to me. Much prefer Monty - Montgomery/Montague or just Monty (although I do think uncle!).

Monty with Montgomery on BC as it gives options as an adult.

Marlow makes me think of Christopher Marlowe, who may have written Shakespeare’s works, may have been a spy and definitely died after a fellow drunken patron in a pub in Deptford stabbed him in the eye.

As for Monty, I have two main associations, neither of which I would want associated with my child. Please see illustrations.

If you like M names, what about Matthew, Milo, Max, Matteo?

No unfortunately not. We seem to be going round in circles with his name. Think it’s between Monty and Reggie now. It’s really me holding us back. I’m just not sold on any boy names 😩 Monty and Reggie are my partners favourite names closely followed by marlow! I think I’ve looked on every baby name list and I just can’t find one I love for him.

I much prefer Monty to Reggie, I think Reggie would date more quickly.

If you don’t love either enough, maybe start again with the baby names book, now your baby is here?

I prefer Monty. I like with Marlow you'd get people mishearing it as Arlo or Harlow (or Merlot )

Monty is fab, Reggie is awful.

Reggie always make me think of the horrible Kray twins.
