Partner never came up with any names for babies.

I named them and he just said yes, that’s cool.

Never discussed more than one name for any child and that’s what they ended up being called.

Amazing choice

My husband didn't mind what they were called as long as it wasn't anything too out of the ordinary. So I suggested boys and girls names for all 4 (didn't find out the sex of any of them) and he agreed! The only thing he insisted upon was that ds1 had same middle name as him and his Dad. In fact, he found any discussion about names unspeakably dull, he just didn't really have any opinions on the subject and wouldn't engage in conversations about it!

Yes, the names were important to me for all the reasons you outline, but it's just not something that worries him. I'm sure he'd have vetoed my suggestions if he really disliked them, but he didn't have any suggestions of his own. He's always been a fantastic father, but just not too worried about names, or about other aesthetic things like how we decorate the house or what clothes he wears. It meant I got my first choice of names each time though
