Trying to decide first names for boy and girl as don't know gender yet.
If it's a boy middle name John
If it's a girl middle name Jo

Rory John or Patrick John for a boy

Matilda Jo for a girl, haven't found another first name yet to have a couple of choices

Any other suggestions?

I think Patrick John has nicer vibe but Rory John flows better. They’re both lovely names, though. I would assume Patrick was after a relative though.

Loads of girls name would go with Jo as middle name. Matilda Jo is nice.

Other ideas.
Madeleine Jo
Penelope Jo
Melissa Jo
Nancy Jo
Rebecca Jo
Amelie Jo
Amelia Jo
Martha Jo
Elsie Jo
Mary Jo
Clara Jo
Tabitha Jo

Jo is quite a difficult match - assume it’s after someone - and that’s why you aren’t using Joanna or something??

Emily Jo, Amelia Jo, Jessica Jo, Rebecca Jo.. none of them are great though

For a boy I’d go with Patrick, as Rory way overused. Both lovely. John is much easier than Jo - Nathaniel John, Gideon John, Alistair John, Rufus John, Ernest John.. practically anything works.

I wouldn't worry too much about them "going" with middle names as they are only ever used at your Christening / Naming ceremony, your graduations (if you have one) and your wedding.
It is how well a forename sits with your surname that it more important.

Henry John

Felicity Jo

I think with Jo as a middle flows best with a longer first name - 3 or 4 syllables.
Someone suggested Felicity Jo, it flows so well.
But I also agree that middle names are so rarely used or heard during one's life that I wouldn't forego a first name I loved just to match the middle. So don't get too hung up on it.

I love Rory John! Patrick John is also ok, but much more 70's/80's Catholic Irish vibe (I say that being of 80's Catholic Irish vintage myself)

Rory and Patrick ae both very nice. I slightly prefer Patrick, think.

Jo as a middle name feels very American 1950s.
