Eila.

ShamalaHamala · 04/12/2021 09:22

Eeh-lah

NovemberNovemberDarkNights · 04/12/2021 09:22

Eye La

I'd expect to get it mistaken for Ella a lot though.

MaudebeGonne · 04/12/2021 09:23

Ay (to rhyme with play) la.

shreddednips · 04/12/2021 09:23

Ayla

MrsPleasant · 04/12/2021 09:23

I would assume it was a strange spelling of Isla.

icedcoffees · 04/12/2021 09:24

I'd assume you can't spell Ayla.

GuckGuckDoose · 04/12/2021 09:25

Ey-la

Ey as in hey, or Eilidh….

UndeadSlut · 04/12/2021 09:27

Ay-la.

PurplePikachu · 04/12/2021 09:28

Eye-la

shangelawasrobbed · 04/12/2021 09:28

Eye La

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 04/12/2021 09:28

I’d assume you were after a you-nique spelling of Isla. Not good I’m afraid.

SoupDragon · 04/12/2021 09:30

Ella.

Then I would look more closely and pronounce it Eye la.

SirChenjins · 04/12/2021 09:31

Ay-la - like Eilidh or Eilean Donan

headintheproverbial · 04/12/2021 09:31

Eye-la.

If you have to ask it's probably better avoided Wink

LefttoherownDevizes · 04/12/2021 09:31

Eye la

@headintheproverbial

That's what's putting me off and why I asked! 😆

Thanks everyone.

Not after a unique spelling or trying to be different, it is a Hebrew name with a meaning that I like and connotes with DD1's name well.

Wasn't sure about the spelling and if people wouldn't know how to say it so based on this I think it's veto'd for now Grin

I assume this too. Appreciate it’s not the case.
StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 05/12/2021 00:38

I'd have guessed (incorrectly) it was a Turkish name and would have gone for ay-la or eye-la.

nocoolnamesleft · 05/12/2021 00:39

First guess Eye-la. Second guess Ay-la. Third guess Eeh-la. So really not sure.

Lockdownbear · 05/12/2021 00:41

Ee-la?

How do you pronounce it?

BHX3000 · 05/12/2021 00:54

Eh-ee-la said quickly and with a short ee - very close to Ay-la really, but the vowels a little separated.

caringcarer · 05/12/2021 01:22

I la

Anystarinthesky · 05/12/2021 02:41

Ayla
