Thoughts on Imogen?
I’ve loved it as a name since I first heard it and I’ve never met one - although think it’s a bit more popular over the last few years, but I don’t think it’s ever been SUPER popular?

Mid 20s

Long and short

🙄

Fairybobbin · 10/11/2021 07:16

Love it, hopefully you love the nick name 'immy' too as its often shorten to it

batsinmetv · 10/11/2021 07:21

Its my baby name. I dont know any other
Imogens which is one of the reasons i like it

It's totally mainstream and classic but not hugely popular in the top 10

We never use immy. Thats a totally different name imo

Bonnealle · 10/11/2021 07:24

I know a few. It’s very popular, it’s been between top 20-40 since early 2000s, although I think of it as a 90s name - not sure why?!

Turtlesone · 10/11/2021 07:24

Love it!

SleafordSods · 10/11/2021 07:34

I like it too. The one I know shortens it to Imi.

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 10/11/2021 07:46

I know a 2 year old Imogen and I think it's a really beautiful name - it was on my girls' name long list

SallyWD · 10/11/2021 08:07

I love it. Classic and understated. I don't know ay young Imogens. In fact I don't know any Imogens!

MonsteraDeliciosa · 10/11/2021 09:04

@CailleachO

I actually hate it. It's not a nice sounding name. It always reminds me of biotech company.
I'm afraid I agree with this. Baffles me that people describe it as beautiful. It's a really ugly word. Reminds me of engine oil.
LittleGwyneth · 10/11/2021 13:06

I think arguably it's as close to a perfect name as you can get. It's pretty, classic, old but not overused. I think it's similar to Charlotte in that sense. I don't have an Imogen but I would seriously consider using it.

Edenember · 11/11/2021 11:00

Beautiful name ♥️

ImustLearn2Cook · 11/11/2021 11:10

Beautiful name. I knew a little girl called Imogen once. She was such a lovely, warm hearted little person with a great sense of humour. I love the name Imogen. Smile

TatianaBis · 11/11/2021 14:04

Love.

I know two adult Imogens. One is Mimi the other is Imo.

Irishfarmer · 11/11/2021 15:40

I think it's very pretty, can't believe 1 pp said dull, that is def not what springs to mind!
I used to work with one, she would probably be early 40s, it wasn't shortened as far as I know. Maybe it was with friends/ family

emmathedilemma · 11/11/2021 16:00

The one i know (aged 11) shortens it to "Imo" which is just ugly in my opinion (pun entirely intentional)

IsThePopeCatholic · 11/11/2021 16:33

I love it. I know one who is 3 - she is called Immy.

BadwordMcGee · 12/11/2021 20:37

I adore it. Was DD name for 36 hours until DH decided he didn't like it as much as what we've now called her.

TatianaBis · 12/11/2021 20:39

What is she now?
maddiemookins16mum · 12/11/2021 21:49

I’ve got one, she’s 17 and loves her name. Never been shortened.

user1485434323 · 12/11/2021 21:54

I have an Imogen.... she is 3, we know one other who is also 3. Both of them get Immy and our Imogen gets ims by me and my husband occasionally...,
Both Imogen's are kind, cheeky, and full of personality.

We get lots of positive comments about her name and I still love it

Jenster03 · 12/11/2021 22:16

We have a daughter called Imogen. She's 2.
We call her Immy or Im. Half the time I just call her Imogen though.

Viviennemary · 12/11/2021 22:18

Not keen personally. But its a perfectly ok name if you like it.

DoAsYouWouldBeMumBy · 12/11/2021 22:26

I think it's a beautiful name. I know only one Imogen, in her 40s, and she is delightful. The only short version I have heard used for her is Imo, which sounds pretty cool to me.

mathanxiety · 12/11/2021 23:51

I much prefer Imogene.

It has a bit of pizazz to it.
