No reason except I remembered this name for some reason. Has anybody ever used it? I rather like it.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Sounds like lice and her. Whenever there is an outbreak of nits he'll get the jokes aimed at him.

CampagVelocet · 06/11/2021 22:00

Bloody love it. Gorgeous.

UndeadSlut · 06/11/2021 22:03

There's a Lysander in the series of books I'm reading to my 9 year old at the moment. He gets Sander as a nickname.

I love it, but it’s a bit long and unwieldy.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 07/11/2021 09:52

It's not that long. Benjamin, Christopher, Nicholas, Alexander, Nathaniel, Jonathan - all just as long, or longer. Eight letters. It's growing on me. Fortunately, or otherwise, my years of fertility are long gone so I can't inflict it on a child.

Yes, I ruled out all those names as being too long and unwieldy too.

goteam · 07/11/2021 10:12

I would only use it if you are very familiar with A Midsummer Night's Dream and a fan of it. You are going to get lots of people referencing it if your child is called Lysander.

I love it and wanted it for DS but DH said “but it’s a plane. And it’s a shit plane too”

Disclaimer: I know nothing about planes but the implication was it is a bit like calling him Dacia or Lada

CatsArePeople · 09/11/2021 16:27

Nice. Also like Lycander

Classica · 09/11/2021 16:42

It's a bit ott and flowery for me but there are worse names.

Namely Horace.

minipie · 09/11/2021 16:42

I like it but it would likely get shortened to Lice.

MonsteraDeliciosa · 11/11/2021 00:20

I love it.
I've never read Jilly Cooper, but I do love a little Shakespeare Wink
