Be interested to know people’s opinions on Jessica. Is it dated or a classic? It’s retained its popularity for a long time now. I love the solid nn options too.

Lovely

Love these comments. My daughter is called Jessica, born 2006 😊

RuthW · 31/10/2021 20:18

It's my least fav name ever. Very 90s.

romdowa · 31/10/2021 20:33

I know a little Jessica and it's a really lovely name. Not too common either.

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 31/10/2021 20:52

apparently Jessica ranked as the 37th most popular name last year. hadn't realised it was as common as that.

restingbitchface30 · 31/10/2021 20:54

It’s my fave girls name. My daughters middle name. We called her Abigail because my partner wouldn’t agree with Jessica as her first name. But I think it’s a beautiful girls name

kitcat15 · 31/10/2021 20:55

Its lovely....its a classic

tiredanddangerous · 31/10/2021 21:58

It's a classic but also very popular if that bothers you.

WeasilyPleased · 31/10/2021 22:03

You're going to hate me and I profusely apologise but I dislike the sic(k) in the middle.

Angel2702 · 31/10/2021 22:11

For some reason here there are several Jessica’s and many Sophie / Sophias in ever class. There are 3 Jessica’s in my daughter’s class.

bloominglovelyorange · 31/10/2021 22:19

I love it. Haven't met a Jessica in years! Great name

groovergirl · 01/11/2021 06:38

I've always liked Jessica. Yes, it was huge in the '90s, but it deserved to have its time in the Top 10. A fresh, happy, high-spirited name and, as PPs have said, consecrated by the Bard!

Lillyofthe · 01/11/2021 08:02

Lovely name! It is a classy, solid name that can be used for a kid or woman. I like Jess as a nn

RubyReynolds64 · 01/11/2021 13:29

Thank you all for your opinions, looks like a strong contender!

Love it. I know two under five.

Can't go wrong with Jessica.

BasiliskStare · 01/11/2021 13:45

Jessica Mitford was 1920s 30s ? I think it is a good name - classic and strong.

WhatyoutalkingaboutWillis · 02/11/2021 06:17

I have a classic Jessica 1989. Still love it and all it's variations.

Amdone123 · 02/11/2021 06:35

I love it too. Don't think it's dated like Chloe or Lauren. It's a classic. My friend has teens Jessica and Rebecca - beautiful.

My Jessica is the only Jessica in her school. At the school I teach there is only one Jessica. I obviously love it but do agree it's a bit 90s! My Jessica is under 5, though. We call her both Jessica and Jess without much thought.
LaurenKelsey · 09/11/2021 12:36

Jessica is a lovely name. It isn’t one of the current trendy names, which means she most likely won’t have many classmates with the same name.

As a teacher, there were a few names that I associated with very unpleasant children. When my son and DiL were thinking of naming their baby one of “those” names, I kept quiet and tried to rid my brain of the negative associations. Fortunately they settled on a different name! 😳
