Zohreh
Mehri

I came across the name Zohreh which I quite like as well as Mehri (which I posted about on a different thread)

Which name do you prefer and why?

I prefer Mehri

I like the sound and I would worry people would use zohreh to go oh are you sorry or sorry? Etc

Mehri
It's a bit like Mary

I prefer Mehri although both are lovely choices! I'd worry that Zohreh might sound a bit like sorry said in a funny way.

romdowa · 30/10/2021 11:17

I think mehri is a very sweet name ☺ 😊

GuckGuckDoose · 30/10/2021 11:18

Mehri is lovely and I suspect more likely to be pronounced more consistently as it’s supposed to be.

groovergirl · 30/10/2021 14:31

I like them both. Is Zohreh sometimes anglicised to Zora?

Bookworm55 · 30/10/2021 21:10

Thanks everyone! Seems like Mehri is the more popular name. I didn’t think of the association to sorry, now that’s slightly put me off the name

@groovergirl there are quite a few versions, Zohra is one of them which I think is the Arab version.

Mehri sounds lovely, a more exotic Mary.

Bookworm55 · 31/10/2021 18:00

@IamnotwhouthinkIam Thank you!

Is it pronounced like Zohra? I think that’s a great name but I do like Mehri too Smile
