Heard this name on SJ Strum's podcast today and absolutely loved it. What do you guys think of Hera? May have issues with pronunciation but I think it's said Hee-rah. Love!

Love it

I don’t think you’ll have many issues with pronunciation as she’s fairly famous as queen of the Greek gods (eg in Disneys Hercules!). It’s a yes from me.

TaraR2020 · 17/10/2021 21:03

Although I would pronounce it Here-ah (like Hero) Hmm

cecemalone · 17/10/2021 21:05

@TaraR2020 I think that's how I say it too. Maybe I didn't explain that so well in my post :)

Ah sorry the Hmm was supposed to show I'm not sure on correct pronunciation but think now it might have looked critical!

cecemalone · 17/10/2021 21:08

@TaraR2020 no not at all, I knew what you meant by it 💕

It is marvellous, please choose it! Established, cool, edgy, exciting, unusual and pretty. What’s not to love?! I’d be excited to meet a little Hera, and curious to know more about her parents.

Kite22 · 17/10/2021 21:10

I think you will. Not everyone is a Greek scholar.

I for one, would be very hesitant reading it outloud from a list, and would need to ask the owner of the name.

NauseousNancy · 17/10/2021 21:12

I like it. It would make me think you were a star wars fan though.

Thepennysjustdropped · 17/10/2021 21:15

Love it.

MistandMud · 17/10/2021 21:16

I like it. We know a lovely one in her late teens, but I've never met another (though we do know a Hero).

Lanique · 17/10/2021 21:18

I really like it.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 17/10/2021 21:19

Love it.

tofuschnitzel · 17/10/2021 21:20

I love it! It was on my list for my twins, but my husband and I disagreed on using it.

OtterAndDog · 17/10/2021 21:21

I like it but also think it’s a bit manly though I can’t really articulate why Confused

M0rT · 17/10/2021 21:26

I love it, I know it's a Greek goddess as I took classical studies in school.
But my strongest association is the Disney film so I don't think you'll have much trouble with pronunciation as Disney is not exactly niche Grin

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 17/10/2021 21:32

It rhymes with ‘era’. How else would you say it?

I have to say I prefer Juno.

cecemalone · 17/10/2021 21:44

@ZoyaTheDestroyer I think some could say Herra

legalseagull · 17/10/2021 21:50

Love it. I'd say "here-ah" like hero

danascully96 · 17/10/2021 22:29

Love it! Also love Athena 🥰

AuntDympna · 17/10/2021 23:00

As I have to call out names and also the word "here" a great deal... Would get mixed up.

Chachachawoo · 18/10/2021 07:27

I love it.
Mylene Class has a Hero. I prefer Hera for a girl

Cam2020 · 18/10/2021 07:33

Love Hera, hate Juno! Also love Athena!

QueenDanu · 18/10/2021 07:37

Prefer hero
