@2020firsttimemum I really like that but babies surname ends in "son" so rules names out 🙈 it's so hard 😂 xx

Zachary is very nice and fits well with Imogen. Oliver is lovely. Hugo is my favourite.

I like Luca but I personally don’t think it goes nicely with Imogen.

lgfh07 · 06/10/2021 21:21

All lovely names but I think go for Luca!

2020firsttimemum · 06/10/2021 21:21

@xem87 oh no! Haha it is soooo tricky! Hudson was the only name we actually agreed on! Everything else my OH was like 'nope' so I'm glad he loved Hudson as much as I did!

there's an app that you can download that is like tinder with baby names that you and your OH download and you swipe and it tells you if you match on a name! That's a good shout if you haven't tried it haha xx

I totally get it!!!

We have to go with husbands name for middle name, it really doesn’t go but it’s a family tradition. Otherwise would have been a little easier since we were down to two names.. we would have used one as first and one as middle!

I think Luca Oliver or Luca Zachary from your list sounds good! I also really like Luca James and Luca Alexander sound great from others suggestions. We would also have done Luca Alexander if we had middle name flexibility! I think generally a longer middle name sounds better with the shorter Luca. The great thing about the middle name is you have a back up if he doesn’t like Luca!

We also had everyone bugging us to know the name. It’s really stressful. We ended up just telling people a name before we were sure, it really helped to take the pressure off, I wish we had done it sooner. We figured we could always correct them later if we changed our minds. I thought we were so weird to be in this position but turns out lots of people do that!

I wouldn’t worry about what “goes with” your daughters name. I spent ages thinking about that too and I realized it’s actually really silly. They won’t go through life saying their names together. Go for Luca… I think you (like me!) are over thinking it and will grow to love it. And in case not pick a great middle name as a back up!

SugarPlum10 · 07/10/2021 15:03

I can really empathise here. We were in a right pickle with names and it got really stressful with family and friends texting every day wanting to know the name. Comments like ‘you’ve only had 9 months to decide…’ didn’t help. I ended up agreeing to something I liked but wasn’t 100% on in a panic and now massively regret it. If you have any doubts about the name then keep thinking on. Everyone else can wait. Seriously.

SugarPlum10 · 07/10/2021 15:09

Oh, and I should add that to me, it would matter that it pairs well with Imogen (beautiful name btw!). Our DCs names are of similar style but people automatically refer to my children in reverse birth order as it flows off the tongue better that way, something that really bugs me. Say them again and again, write them down, shout them out, check initials, Google them. But above all, just make sure it feels completely right in your heart Smile

DDSMUM2 · 07/10/2021 17:51

Yup, yup, yup… it’s so unhelpful being pressured by everyone around you to hurry up. Definitely ignore everyone else, my husband kept reminding me it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks that it was just between him and I. That was 100% helpful. It’s also helpful to realize there are other people in your situation - there’s nothing wrong with you!

Thank you all x
I do feel really pressured just wish I could feel the same about these names as I do about Imogen's name.
I like Luca but I also like zach and Archie just cannot decide 😂
Someone said they aren't sure Imogen and Luca sound right together so maybe that's stuck in my mind I really don't know!

I feel like he needs a name and annoyed with
Myself I cannot choose. I know deep down OH wants Luca but I don't know why I have doubts so glad it's not just me! Xxx

I love the name Imogen! My immediate thought for a sibling name was James... or Thomas.

Thomas Luca

Luca is a great choice.

daisypond · 08/10/2021 14:52

I don’t think Luca goes at all with Imogen, if you care about that. And Archie is twee. Luke or Lucas are better. But out of your final two, Archie.

Theoldwoman · 08/10/2021 14:57

Imogen Rose is beautiful.

Names I like that go best are:

Thomas
Nicholas
Zachary
Richard
Samuel
Jacob
Kurt

crumblebug · 08/10/2021 14:58

Luca Oliver, definitely!

I really don't think there's anything wrong with Imogen and Luca together?

spiderlight · 08/10/2021 16:09

I know two little Imogens - one has a brother called Kieran, and the other has one called Oscar.

Cindie943811A · 08/10/2021 21:08

Archie is just way too trendy at the moment plus it’s a very harsh sounding name.
Luca is great. Stick with your Luca Oliver and you won’t be disappointed.
My favourite for a second name is Alexander or James or Tristan ( if you want a name of similar age as Imogen)

SugarPlum10 · 08/10/2021 21:42

Oh gosh I really feel your struggle :(. We loved our dd1s name so much we kept joking we would have to call the other one ‘Sophie 2’ (not real name!). Archie means genuine and bold, Luca means bringer of light. Do any of these mean more to you? Have you asked family? Do they have a favourite? Try not to panic. Maybe neither name is right if they are not settling.

YumLemonCheesecake · 15/10/2021 15:18

Any final choice yet?
