I’ve been advised that there is a soft “h” in this name’s pronunciation like - Zow-reh. Meaning is Venus.

Very pretty but if the pronunciation isn’t even obvious to you (are you Persian/Iranian?) then I think it will be a struggle

That's really pretty! I like it.

Love it and love the meaning.

Schools are full of kids from all cultural backgrounds now and the majority of people are more than capable of managing names other than sarah and bob.

Thanks everyone! Glad to see a good response.

The Zohreh I know pronounces it ZO-reh, if that's what you were meaning. It's beautiful.

Winterwinter54 · 06/10/2021 13:48

@ladycarlotta Yes that’s exactly what I mean. Thank you!

I’ve seen two different spelling for Zohreh online:
Zohre
Zohreh

Does anyone know which one is the correct spelling?

I quite Like Zohreh, as a more unusual name, I think I might add an A on the end though, somehow softens it a bit

Zohreha

I know a little Zohra

SionnachRua · 06/10/2021 20:59

Ah don't go slapping extra letters on it if it's not part of the culture. You wouldn't exoticise Penelope by changing it to Penelopeu or SPenelope.

I like the name a lot, never heard of it before. Can't speak to the correct spelling but I find Zohreh more visually pleasing.

I don’t think Zohreha is a name in Persian culture, the sound is lovely but I prefer Zohreh.
