Hi there!

Hoping to find inspiration for baby boy number 2!

We have a son and two dogs all with names ending in 'ie'. We were therefore thinking for baby boy 2, we'd love something short and snappy but that has a slightly unique air about it

And we are struggling!

Love:
Jack
Ben
Mack
Joss
But not enough to go with them OR they are too popular!!

Any ideas from the fountain of knowledge that is MN?

If you give him a 1 syllable name, chances are you'll end up calling him name-ie.

I'd go with a name that makes that unlikely, eg Torin, or Conrad.

Some fantastic ideas, thanks so much!
LOVE: Miles, Ace, Ted, Max, Finn, Bran... Awesome thanks!

I do take your point @MrsBertBibby that short names usually get elongated... my sons long name is always shortened so a name is never used as is!

Please keep them coming, I'm building the list from here! Wonderful

@trumpisagit

Funny made me laugh out loud. Is Flann a real name or another autocorrect? Jed Ted Bear Sid
Flann is real! He was a High King of Ireland, circa 9th century, and the name came back into use as a first name when there was a big revival of old Irish (Gaelige/Gaelic-rooted) names in the early 20th century. Although I think it's still rare and rarely used outside of Ireland.

It seems like a name that could be used in England without too much trouble - there are different legitimate pronunciations but FLAN like the pudding or the first syllable of flannel is probably most likely.
