Biblical classic or dated and dull?

Lydia is a beautiful classical name- I imagine she could be an exotic princess or just as equally a powerful modern business woman.

I loved it until i watched Handmaids Tale but now it just makes me think of that.

Beautiful name, I had one I was friends with through school and never heard any nicknames mentioned above. She was always Lydia or Lyds

Lydia is lovely - one of those classics with lots of literary references (Biblical, Austen etc like similar Julia) that has been in the lower ends of the top 100 sometimes over the years but never got really popular so doesn't feel commonplace/overused or dated. I slightly prefer Claudia or Julia personally, but nevertheless I think Lydia is a great choice.

I loved it for all of my pregnancies but DH had an issue with the chlamydia thing and I couldn’t convince him. In the end I consoled myself with people might mishear it as Olivia… but I still love it!
