Names after grandparents..

Hey everyone ..

My Nan's name is Denise (Dee) Rosina, she is the most special person to me & we have the most beautiful relationship ever..

I've always known I've wanted to name my baby girl after her and I have always planned on giving my baby girl the middle name Rosina too. However, I now think I am leaning more towards the name ..

Rosina Dee 🤍

Not only is it my Nan's name backwards but I also think it is so pretty. Rosina is a name you don't here very often but I think it is gorgeous and it would be so sweet for me to name her completely after my Nan ..

What do you think? Would you stick to rosina as just the middle name or do you think it's sweet to do Rosina Dee? Thanks so much x

I think it's lovely

Lovely name. So thoughtful and unusual

Toddlerteaplease · 26/09/2021 22:30

It's s as lovely name. But I think using both names is a bit much. She needs to be her own person.

Toddlerteaplease · 26/09/2021 22:30

Plus the other grandparents might be a bit upset!

Thanks everyone!

I'm no where near as close to my other Nan so this wouldn't be a problem but thanks for pointing it out xx

Rosina is lovely. Definitely use it as the first name.

Using Dee as well is perhaps a bit OTT, but if it feels right for you, why not?

I think it's lovely. Rosina is a very pretty name.

I would give her a middle name of her own. Rosina is a lovely name.

Rosina is lovely and the older I get the more drawn to am to th idea of running names through families. Middle names are
Mainly symbolic so Dee,Denise, you other GM's name , your DM's name or mil's name are all fine.

Very good choice op.

Yeah, but she has a whole other family too on her dad’s side. Maybe he could choose the middle name?
manhattenrain · 27/09/2021 09:56

What a beautiful name! Definitely go with Rosina Dee.Smile

daisypond · 27/09/2021 10:05

Rosina is nice, but I’m not sure about using both names. What about names from the dad’s family?

user14597 · 27/09/2021 10:10

I think Rosina is nice.
Not sure about a nickname (Dee) for a middle name, but I guess the full Denise is a bit dated now.

FeedMeSantiago · 27/09/2021 12:42

Normally I suggest that honour names, if used, be middle names. However, Rosina is gorgeous and it's your nan's middle name so a nice nod to your nan without them both sharing a first name. Rosina Dee is lovely but I would consider giving her a middle name which is her own, or a name from one of the other parts of her family, whether either of DH's sides, or your other side.
