Please cast your votes!
Cassandra?
Serena?

Which one is nicer and why?
After a very long time picking a perfect name and settling on Cecilia, baby really doesn't look like Cecilia Grin!
Husband prefers Cassandra, I think I like Serena better.

Cecilia, Celia, Cecily.

Cassandra was doomed to make prophesies that no one could listen to and Serena is too Handmaids Tale.

CharlieBoo · 14/09/2021 22:01

Just reminds me of only fools and horses.. and very old fashioned.. no I’m a good way

Ellmau · 14/09/2021 22:09

I think they're both lovely. Very slight preference for Serena, I think.

Carboncheque · 14/09/2021 22:17

Cecilia. CC while she’s little?

Yika · 14/09/2021 22:20

I prefer Cassandra, it's pretty and elegant.

FeedMeSantiago · 15/09/2021 08:16

I like them both. I probably slightly prefer Serena in it's own right but I like the Cass, Cassie and Cassia shortening options of Cassandra so Cassandra would probably be my choice.

PennyWus · 15/09/2021 08:18

Both beautiful. I love Serena, but I vote Cassandra as it lends itself to Cassie or Sandy or Caz.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 15/09/2021 08:30

I’m afraid when I read Cassandra I hear it in Rodney’s whiny voice! Out of the two, I say Serena.

Phoebesgift · 15/09/2021 08:31

Serena.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 15/09/2021 08:33

i prefer Cecilia

how about Celia?

ShingleBeach · 15/09/2021 08:36

Cecelia is lovely!

Everything connected with the HT gives me the shudders. Always hear him saying ‘Serena’ before he beat her. But it will be a passing reference, I guess.

sluj · 15/09/2021 08:38

Casdandra will be pronounced very differently in the North and South. Much too Fools and Horses for me.

Pickuptruck · 15/09/2021 08:41

Babies have to grow into their names - you will always regret not going with Cecilia, this is your hormones speaking Smile

caz198917 · 15/09/2021 08:49

A cassandra here but I go by cassie. Never liked my name growing up! But now it's nice to have a name not many others have now. I'm early 30's for context. What about Cassidy?

caz198917 · 15/09/2021 08:51

And yes. My parents did get my name from only fools and horses 🤣🤣🤣

Smurftastic · 15/09/2021 10:35

Thank you everyone. We decided to go with Cecilia after all. If we went with what baby looks like for now it would have to be Piglet Blush. I still like Serena a lot, but with middle name Joyce it's just a bit too close to Serena Joy as in the Handmaid's Tale.

Cassandra defiantly. Cass / Cassie I love. Was going to name my son Cassius as I love Cass but husband wouldn't agree!

Melroses · 15/09/2021 11:05

Well worth sticking to the name you love Grin

When DS was born, I kept thinking he looked like a 'Robert'. I have no idea why. I don't particularly like the name, and I had a relative of that name that I was not particularly fond of Confused.

I am glad we stuck with the name we liked. I expect he is too.

Carboncheque · 15/09/2021 11:45

It’s beautiful Smile

MrsLargeEmbodied · 16/09/2021 06:22

oh good, welcome baby Cecelia and congratulations

User147893 · 16/09/2021 11:47

I really like Serena.

To me Cassandra is from OFAH or a classical figure and I am not keen.

User147893 · 16/09/2021 11:49

Sorry missed update. Cecilia very very good!

(CeCe nice nickname, but not Cila!)

Notashandyta · 16/09/2021 11:53

I like them both.

Hate Cecilia tho!

Notashandyta · 16/09/2021 11:55

So sorry, just seen your update! Teach me to rttt *hangs head in shame

I'm sure Cecilia will be beautiful for your baby

LittleGwyneth · 17/09/2021 11:44
