Sweet girl names

Hi, I’m looking for a girl name that sounds sweet but can also be sustainable on an adult. I tend to like “cutesy” names but I don’t want child to have a name that sounds ridiculous when they’re grown. The only name that I think ages well, that I like would be Charlotte, but I sadly can’t use the name. I also like Lily but it sounds too fragile…any suggestions?

Most "ee" ending name sounds very cute/sweet to me - so generally not really my taste. But there are some I do like and that I think sound more "suitable" for all ages to me (rather than just the cute toddler/child stage):

Mary
Cecily
Emily
Sophie
Romilly
Bryony
Jessamy
Felicity
Verity
Sylvie
Coralie
Rosalie
Amelie
Elodie
Xanthe
Ianthe

I think basically I'd avoid the "ee" ending nn's as given names - I know there are plenty of lovely adult Daisy's, Maisie's, Rosie's, Evie's, Ellie's, Sadie's, Marnie's, Lottie's, Tilly's, Milly's etc.... but I do think the full name versions often sound better on adults personally and it's nice for them to have the option imo.

Give a good solid name that shortens to a sweet diminutive.
Matilda - Tilly
Eleanor - Ellie
Jessica - Jessie
Lillian - Lily
Rosamund - Rosie

cloudacious · 13/09/2021 11:44

No one is going to start calling a Rosie Rosamund in later life!!! She would be Rosie forever.
