Eleanor - nicknames?

We really like Eleanor for DD2. We prefer the full name but are worried it will get shortened to Ellie / Elle / Ella, which we're not keen on. We like Nell and Nora, but DD1 is Nina, so too similar do you think? Any other ideas? Thanks.

I think that Eleanor and Nina could be a bit of a tongue tangler together. I say Eleanor a bit like ‘Elina’ so together with Nina is a bit ‘ina ina’.

All the Eleanor's I have known have eventually been shortened to Ellie, but I know an Elaina that doesn't get shortened?

I'm an Eleanor. Nicknames used for me: E, Ells, Bells (obvs), Ellie, Elle, Lia (weirdly), Nore (which I hate).

As a teen I went by Ellie as I hated people pronouncing my name Elea-Nore. As an adult I go by Eleanor and hardly anyone bar those that knew me as a teen call me by anything else (inc my husband).

I know two.
One is always the full Eleanor, the other is known as Nen. Nen was her own toddler mispronunciation which stuck

I adore Eleanor. You don’t have to have a nickname....if you really insist, Nell is the best

If you plan to use full name then others will follow. Nickname would be decided by friends or dd herself when she is older so Elle or Ellie would be possible. If that's an issue I would look for another name.
