Opinions on these names please

Hello all,

Struggling with names, especially boys.

Girls:
Did like the name Una/Oonagh but gone off it as the spelling / pronunciation may cause issues.

We like Lily/Lilly as a middle name (which spelling though?)

Front runners are:

Jasmine Lily/Lilly
Ruby Lily/Lilly
Scarlett Lily/Lilly
Violet Lily/Lilly

...bit of a theme has emerged, totally unintentional...but does it seem a bit cheesy to have a colour/flower or flower/flower combo? If we like these names which others might we like?

Boys:
Albert is the best we can come up with, possibly Sidney. But we don't really love either names. Any suggestions?

Una is lovely, but I agree with previous poster- not a fan of the colour/flower combo. Sorry! But go with your gut. Xxx

aaaaah - I have had 2 threads on here about the name Una/Oonagh and it went on for pages and pages about how to pronounce Una - it was a split between the Oona / Yuna pronunciation. As someone who has an unusual name I don't want my child to have to correct people all the time and I am not keen on the Yuna pronunciation x

Just pronounce it Oona then? But yeah if you feel you don't want to use it that's fair enough.

I love both Lily (this spelling) and Ruby, however not together, sorry.

Not a fan of either boys name.

Jeremy, Adam, Benjamin, Reuben, Luke.

I really like Lillian, DH not so much. But I think I could convince him.

Definitely don't use Una then if you're already got concerns. It'll drive you mad

Love you boy names. How about Otis, Ellis, Tristan, Peter, Arthur, Stanley, Kit, Wilfred
(Love Sidney or even just Sid)

How about verity Audrey Jemima or Clementine

How about Anya Lily or Honor Lily?

DH suggested Anya, I'm not sure...

I don't like the flower/colour combos.

How about Luna?

A friend has a daughter called Luna

Don't like Una/Oonagh.
Scarlett is nice, but don't think it goes that well with Lily. Don't like the two 'y' sounds together at the end of Ruby Lily.
Violet Lily is OK and I think Jasmine Lily is lovely. I'd go for that.
I really don't like your boys names.

Lilly or lillie absolutley, Lily is overused.
I like una but it depends on your last name but Una Lilly is nice,
same for Scarlett Lilly, although personally if you are struggling with first names I wouldn't settle on the middle name first, pick a first name and then a middle that goes with that

Love Oona and that’s what I’d go for - no one is going to pronounce the Oona/gh spelling as Yewna.

Also like Jasmine, Jasmine Lily is fine - but I wouldn’t use a colour name in front of Lily. Would stick to the classic Lily spelling. Ffion, Aster, Briar, Clover, Sorrel, Flora, are other flower names that aren’t overused.

For boys.. maybe Stellan, Struan, Soren, Angus, Alistair, Kester, Alberic,

Luna sound like a lunatic. would get teased all her life. so no.

Stanley is a name that suits both a child and an adult.
